Hola! Ferry services have been canceled just now, March 6, 2009 due to the dangerous sea conditions. Please stay in touch with the locals to find out when they will begin again. People that ferried out this morning are now stranded on the other side. You can always fly out, conditions for flying are fine, although the winds are picking up, too. Call before you leave and have a backup plan.
There were conversations, again, about building a bridge between Fajardo, Vieques and Culebra, but if conditions are dangerous, that too will be closed. Just a thought. Happy travels! J
