Which day am I more likely to get stranded on Culebra Saturday or Sunday? Any steps to ensure you don't get stranded?

It's pretty much the same as an getaway place that's in fairly easy reach of locals. Those who are there for the weekend tend to arrive on Fri or Sat and leave on Sunday.

Holiday periods and weekends are the busiest times, just like Disneyland.

There are no guarantees on the ferry other than trying to buy tickets in advance and then getting there as early as possible.

Mort,
Didn't quite understand what you were trying to say
"its pretty much the same as an getaway place that's in fairly reach of locals"

What does that mean? Just curious, define "locals", are you a local ?

Mort just means that it's proximity to the main island of Puerto Rico makes it a popular outing for folks who live there.

So, the way I read this is: If I'm going to take a day trip and if I can get on to the island on Saturday, my chances of getting off would be better than taking a day trip on Sunday.

How does one buy tickets in advance? I'm assuming from what your saying is that I can go friday afternoon and buy a sat 9 am ticket and and sat 5pm return.

I'm also assuming that from what your saying is that even a ticket doesn't guarantee you a spot on the boat. That you have to get in line for the ferry with your ticket early. How early? One hour? Two Hours?
