Accommodations - Late Feb
Culebra, Puerto Rico

So, we were hoping to stay at Villa Fulladoza (they had everything we wanted - proximity to town, kitchens in unit, quiet area, clean, and around $80 per night. However, they are booked and we're looking for a different place. Ultimately, we want to stay somewhere that comes highly recommended, but we really need an available kitchen and we need to stay below $100 a night. We're now considering Posada la Hamaca and Palmetto's Guesthouse.

Any recommendations?

I recommend two things.

1. Call Vacation Planners and tell them what you are looking for and they will give you some options. 866-285-3272

2. Check out mangotreeculebra.com and see if they are available. They have a kitchen and rent for $90 per night. They are fairly close to Melones Beach. Vacation Planners can also help you with this one.

Also, I don't know about Posada la Hamaca but I have heard good things about Palmetto's Guesthouse follow up with each of them as well.

Hola! I've stayed at Casita Tropical, check their link from this website under SHELTER. They are probably within your budget, have a kitchenette and offer other amenities as well as pick up from the pier. Great place and the owners Molly and Jerry are awesome. Happy travels! J

Good afternoon Ellen,
You can take a look at our website at http://www.palmettoculebra.com for complete info.

There you will find photos, rates, & a full list of amenties.

February is quickly booking up all over, so you might want to try to secure your accomodations soon.

I've stayed at Posada, Palmetto, and Tropical, and enjoyed all three. I would advise the following: if you are young and new to Culebra, Molly and Jerry at Tropicale are party type folks who will go out of their way to help you experience the island, including driving, hiking with and dining/cocktailing with guests. The vibe there is beach/Bohemian.

I believe Terrie and Mark at Palmetto are interactive with their guests, too, with an emphasis on active lifestyle activities. Palmetto is the poshest of the three, as well.

Posada is at the epicenter of town life, next door to Mamacitas and a wedge-shot to Dinghy Dock. Clean, functional; small rooms, no frills except included coolers and beach towels. Only the "apartment" has a kitchen, though some rooms have microwave and half-fridges. They had a gass grill on the deck.

Hope this helps.
