There are sections of Flamenco (left of center when facing the water) that are very well protected by reefs. It's calm there even when the waves are large down the beach aways.

There are shaded picnic tables at Flamenco, only steps from the beach.

There is really no shade on the beaches other than the line of bushes and trees behind the beaches. If you don't want to sit under the bushes, bring an umbrella.
