Seeking beach accommodations
Culebra, Puerto Rico

My family is considering taking a vacation to Culebra in June after our six year old finishes Kindergarten. We are looking to rent a home that is located on the beach, so that we can go outside and play in the sand with our son whenever we want. We would like someplace quiet and secluded, since we want to spend time alone together as a family. Does anything like this exist in Culebra? Is June a good time to visit?

Thanks for your advice!

Karen

Karen:

The only place you could rent would be through Culebra Beach Villas. I think that you could find info about them on this site. They seem to have two kinds of units: 1) In a 4 story building, 2) In small block cottages behind the big building. Flamenco Beach is beautiful for children. The beach is over a mile long so you should be able to be alone as a family. I don't know how the rentals are in June.

I just returned from Culebra Beach Villas yesterday, having spent close to a week w/ them - fantastic! I stayed in both the "Main Building" as well as the villas behind it.
Since each villa is independently owned, the rooms vary in terms of quality/amenities, although all feature kitchens. It seemed to me that the rooms that were part of the Main Building were a bit nicer, while the villas in the back were quieter. As for the location - absolutely unbeatable! Right on Flamenco Beach. You can check this sight for house rentals, but you will not find anything directly on Flamenco Beach (although you may find something near another beach.) Have a great trip!

Hi Karen,

check out Zoni Beach House on the shelter $$$ section. It might be exactly what you are looking for!

Good luck,

Melanie

Villa Flamenco Beach. Private, clean, new, right on the beach. Privately owned. You will not regret staying there. Get a front studio facing the beach with A/C.
