Palmetto Guest House, Casa Robinson, or Casita Linda?
Culebra, Puerto Rico
Author: Connie Tsai (65.169.153.---)

We're looking for lodging for 5 people in Culebra, and are considering the Palmetto Guest House, Casa Robinson, and Casita Linda, among others.

I've seen some positive comments regarding Casita Linda on this forum, but would appreciate feedback on any of these.

Thanks.

I only have seen and heard about Casita Linda.
It's location is good, and it seem nicely clean.
The owners are friendly people, and the price seem good too.
However, you need public transport to get to Flamenco.

Casita Linda is located right in the middle of the restaurants, RENTAL FACILITIES and souvenir and grocery shops area just outside of town. When you arrive at Dewey waterfront (west sideof town) a short walk will take you accross town to the canal and bridge that connects the town with Ensenada Honda harbor. We are on the very corner where the bridge crosses the canal. This is considered the most convenient location. You can walk anywhere! ( INCLUDING SARDINAS, MELONES AND DATILES BEACHES! )For the eastern coast and Flamenco Beach inexpensive public transportation is readily available.

By a remarkable coincidence, I happened to run into the person who owns (I'm pretty sure) the Palmetto on Saturday (here in New York). It's not open at this time.

What is going on with the Palmetto? It hasn't been open for a while now I hear. Is the owner living in NYC now?

He has always been living in NYC - the trouble in Culebra is finding people to run the place, I think that's why it was (or is) for sale and currently closed. I will remove it from the listings for now.

Enjoy Culebra!

I haven't been to Casita Linda but if that is the same place which has been spamming this forum I would never stay there. Further, there was just a posting about problems people encountered as Casa Linda apartments. I don't remember seeing any positive comments about Casita Linda.

Woosh, this is an old thread re-visited! We purchased the Palmetto Guesthouse last June, moved up from the British Virgin Islands in July, renovated in August, & opened Sept. first.

You can find complete info. on our website at http://www.palmettoculebra.com &/or contact us with any add'l questions!

Thanks,

The Palmetto is really lovely. I would strongly recommend it. Mark and Terrie are very sweet, two of the nicest people on the island. The rooms are clean and airy. They did a great job with the renovations... what more can I say!

i've not stayed at Palmetto but, depending on whether or not any of your party can share a bed, I would highly recommend Bahia Marina resort. You get a small suite with two double beds, 2 FULL bathrooms (yes, 2), a small kitchenette, living area with full-sized futon and a small beautiful deck overlooking the sound. Mary, who runs the office is so sweet and quite helpful. There's two pools at the place, one of the best restaurants in town on the grounds, a great covered outdoor bar and the place also took over Thrifty car rental in town and you get a discount on rentals when you book with them. We stayed for 3 nights and it couldn't have been more enjoyable, i highly recommend it.
