Hi, I am planning a trip to Puerto Rico in August and wanted to try out diving with my son's. I need all and any information you can provide on costs for diving, recommendations for diving services. My plan is to drive down and stay a night. Suggestions and help from you pro's will be appreciated.
-Gracias, Pablo

There are two dive operators on the island. Both offer introductory to scuba classes (also known as resort courses). Learn to scuba dive in an afternoon - if you like it, you'll need to take the full certification course in your hometown. Contact http://culebradivers.com/ or Aquatic Adventures at (787) 209-3494 or tazhamrick@hotmail.com. I've been diving with both (have done a little over 150 dives in Culebra), and they are both great operators. You can't go wrong with either one. Best of luck!

Happy Diving!
Debbie

Where are you located? I noticed you said you would "drive down".

I don't recommend driving down. The water's quite deep in places.

Thanks for the information, I will check them out. Good one on driving down :) I needed a good laugh. What I mean is... I will be in PR visiting family in August (i.e. from Jersey) and I am planning to drive down and take the ferry. By the way where will be a good place to stay for the night. Thier will be 3 Total.
-Thanks again, Pablo

Look to your upper left on this forum for lodgings. Unsure if you will find anything for one night. Is camping at Flamenco a possibility for you? Perhaps your family on the big island will have gear you could borrow for one night. Were you planning on renting a vehicle on Culebra? If you were planning on taking the ferry that carries cars from Fajardo and your car is a rental, you will not be allowed to take it across and also this ferry requires reservations months in advance. Just some thoughts.

Thanks a bunch for that information. I wasn't planning on taking the car, just use taxi... I have to check on the camping. Really appreciate it.
-Thanks again, Pablo
