noseeums

My husband visited Culebra last year and he said that the people who lived there took a supplement to help keep the noseeums from biting them, but he doesn't remember what it was. Has anyone heard of this? We are currently working on Guantanamo Bay and the buggers are terrible here. Any info will be appreciated.
