Ha, Hedily! 8 and 10 year olds can outwalk us any day, especially if it's leisurely. No worries.

The walk is over a hill, but it is beautiful and easy, unless someone has an injury or disability of course.

As far as hiking trails go, this one has to be rated in the easiest category, in my opinion.

I agree with Richard (not surprising!) that there is no need for a guided tour - unless you don't have any of your own snorkel stuff, I guess.

Know that Carlos Rosario is the SECOND beach you come to, not the first, which is Tamarindo. Both have good snorkeling but like Richard I prefer CR, especially on the left when you arrive at the beach. Snorkel out toward the mooring buoys. Great stuff!
