for value I'd nominate Barbara Rosa's as a contender. esp. if shark tenders are on the menu.

Lobster or shrimp...lobster will be local any place you get it, Dinghy Dock, Mamacita's - hmm, does Tina's have lobster? etc. Shrimp will not be local, as we don't have those kind of shrimp here! But you can get some incredible whole fish dinners in a number of places.
Best when you get here to call a few places, ask around to see who has lobster. Don't be afraid to ask locals for suggestions as well, you'll get a few.

c'mon MJ nobody just asks questions face to face anymore - how 18th c.

it is funny how reticent we have become. SO, friends and co-workers occasionally look surprised and ask "how did you know that?" ummm I talk to people and ask questions....

not rocket science. more like brain surgery.

never seen lobster on menus, I believe it's more the spiny non-claw variety around there right?

I AM so 18th century (no cell phone, remember? go from there - oh, except this computer thing).

Caribbean lobster don't have big claws. But they ARE lobster - even if they aren't *true* lobsters! Leave it to the Caribbean to never have a quite straightforward explantion for anything. But whatever they are, they are delicious!

There is a pretty good local restuarant nestled up in the hills above the new school. I believe the name is "La Bahia". It is part of the "Ocean View" Guest Houses. (I think) Seafood is very good ... but they don't speak a lick of English. Of course, they might just be pretending to "no habla English" so they don't have to talk to me ... many would agree that is a wise strategy. Sometimes even my wife "no habla English", if you know what I mean. :-)

La Bahia does have very good seafood. And I am partial to her son's lobster, grilled, out on the bay (I do not want to raise any discussions about Captain's Hungry! - this is strictly about the food) They are always fresh, very sweet and really well prepared!

Enjoy Culebra!
