How long would it take to kyack to Luis Pena and from where would you start.

Wasn't there a guy that tried to do just that a few months ago and the currents took him out to sea for a couple of days before he was rescued? I recall reading of his adventures in the Culebra Calendar!

After reading about his "misfortune", I am not sure I would try to kayak to Luis Pena ...

Yes, I read that article but the time of year and the time of day and the weather conditions played a big part. Maybe I should take a water taxi. Is it worth the day trip?

Question numero uno: How experienced are you at ocean kayaking? If you have experience and follow Jim Petersen's instructions, you'll do fine. (He won't rent the kayaks on days when the sea is too rough).

I second what Doug says. Trust Jim's advice. I kayaked around Louis Pena and spent a lot of time snorkeling and hanging out on the beach all in on day. I was great and I am no athlete!
