affordable 3 night lodging
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hi!

I'm looking for recommendations of some places for 3 nights (November 9-11) that are pretty affordable? $150 is our absolute maximum per night and we'd like someplace that we can get around from if we rent bikes...

We are 2 early 30s women - she snores, so 2 rooms would be ideal, (I'm happy to sleep on a futon or something in a living area). A kitchenette kind of thing would be cool but not essential.

And, are we too late to be looking into this? :)

thanks in advance for the advice!

Naomi

Your not too late- September and October are part of the 'slow' season, and early november it just creeping out of that season. I'm sure you can find something nice for under 150. Try Fulladoza in the bay in town. Have fun!

I've stayed here a coupla times: http://www.harbourviewvillas.com/harbourview.htm,

great view and right about what you're asking for price and space-wise, but I don't know about getting up that hill on bikes...

although a housekeeper (not sure if that's the right term) lived there w/o a car on one visit and seemed cool with walking up and down the hill. but it is rather vertically placed from town - few mosquitos or no-see-ums up there on that side and fantastic sunsets, but you may have more fun in town (esp. after a few apres dinner drinks)... I say that being somewhat exercise challenged and spoiled.

some have griped about management, but I've never had a problem (cancellation policy seems to be the issue).

If you are a light sleeper, those foam earplugs from the drug store work wonders when traveling with a snorer. On Culebra, they may just provide relief from the rooster symphony, too!

In August we stayed at Jerry and Molly's, Casita Tropical and had a great time. We stayed in the 2 twin beds room. With earplugs....you might could make it with a snoring person....lol. It was 80.00 per night

The good thing about staying at Casita Tropical....you can use their bikes for free as well as beach chairs. They were so kind and friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend it.
Oh yeah....she'll pick you up from the ferry dock AND take you back when its time to go home.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. We decided to stay at Palmetto (price is right, looks cute, and Terrie has been great!) - I'll let you know how it goes.

We also have beach chairs, towels, coolers, umbrella, bikes, boogie boards, snorkel gear & internet access available free for guests. We do airport/ferry transfers as well!

Thanks!
