I don't want to attach one person to what is being done. To me, it is a mentality that needs to be addressed, because development IS going to happen, and in this case, it has been continually dealt with to do it as responsibly as possible, over and over again. It just makes me really sad to see what is going on...the bare hills of Culebra being scraped out and off for a type of living environment that has little or nothing to do with Culebra - which is TOTALLY my opinion. I know this sort of thing is happening everywhere there is beautiful water and undeveloped land (look what happened in Belize and what is going on in Panama). The very undeveloped sort of place that makes building these *communities* possible, the uniqueness that makes them *one of the last pristine etc. etc* and so attractive, is what will forever change the nature of the few remaining quiet spots in the world that happen to be beuaitiful.
Single housing is one thing. Huge (for the size of the place) developments out of cookie cutter molds that could be from South Florida or California or Hawaii...is another.
Again, this is entirely my opinion, based on my lack of desire for this sort of development. It isn't about a person, it isn't about Willie, the *you* used in my rant was inclusive of the corporations of the world ready to trade tranquility for cash. Hope that's clear!
