It a down hill hike. Thats what one of the locals said. I did not go because i was pregnant. But this year my husband and I are going. We saw the baech from the top of the island(we drove there) and its amazing. So secluded.

To get to Resaca, take the road just past the airport (as though you are headed to Suzie's "Fox's Lair" a fine restaurant). Drive all the way up the hill and park at the top. The hiking trail is located to the north side of the parking area, I think. It's a pretty steep hike down and a very steep hike back up. Worth it though.

To get to Brava, take a left at the "1905" building on your way to Zoni. (Just past the cemetary). Drive to the end and park on the side of the road. There are several houses but the occupants don't seem to mind. Go straight ahead to the hiking trail. Less steep than Resaca trail. Also well worth it.

Hope this helps.
Frank

I had heard that it is not safe to swim at Brava because of the currents. Is this true?

I've not tried it, but the surf looked much heavier and hit at an angle, making it look like it had a rip-tide. Caution is definitely a good idea.

Thanks to all. I've been off the board for a while, dealing with my real life. Will be back to Culebra (again) in March 2008.

Brava is not recommended if your not a strong swimmer (I've had my own near death expierence there) a great beach to visit, but not a leisure swim spot. A turtle beach too!!
