Holly -
You might try calling, rather than e-mail. It being high season, they are likely running trips all hours of the day. The phone number listed is a cell phone for Ilca, Jose Padi

When we traveled with Padin last summer, we were treated to the oceanside route. . . There is also a new road that I saw from the plane this month that is on the mountains side of Hwy 3. It starts b

I enjoyed riding with Padin, because it let me gawk at the countryside instead of concentrating on the traffic (highly recommended focus, btw). The downside was that if I was driving, I'd have taken t

Thanks much. For anyone who needs this info, I found it would be more affordable for us to rent then drive to the ferry. i called L&M and was given the price of $58.80 each one-way rental for an eco

No - padin is now $65 for the van. Between 5 people, it should be cheap! A ticket from San Juan Isla Grande Airport to Culebra is $50 on Air Flamenco.

We paid $60 for Padin last summer. There van was large enough to accommodate more than 5 people, but I don't know whether there is a limit to the number of passengers they are allowed to take.

A few friends and I are planning a trip in April, so our trip to Fajardo would not correspond. However, we are wondering about some basic questions concerning that ride. Is Padin a good service to tak

We are two travelers coming to Culebra on March 7th. We will fly into San Juan just before noon and will reserve ground transport with Padin to the Ferry Dock in Fajardo to catch the 3:00 boat. The

On the other hand Padin was late once picking me up from the airport (30min) and I missed my early morning ferry. I like his relaxed attidude, but when he refused to step on it on a completely empty h

I second the Padin recommendation. We used them this past June and Jose and his wife were great.

See Transport, Getting There over to the left on this site. Travel with Padin will get you from San Juan to Fajardo, and the ferry schedule is posted there too. The ferries are generally reliable un

Heck, me neither! I thought a publico was a van that carts people around the island, but which makes stops along the way (at the concrete shelters you see by the side of the road). My taxi concept i

Debbie,
I'm not sure I know the difference. I could be using the term incorrectly. Because of our airline connection, I only had 2 choices when I flew out of Culebra, a very early flight

Another point to add to Doug's post - you must make reservations on the ferry in advance, which are hard to come by.
Doug - Padin runs a publico?? I thought it was a private taxi service.

An easy way to get to the ferry terminal in Fajardo is by taxi. I have used Padin Taxi before and were very reliable and reasonable ($20 per person from Fajardo - SJ). Their telephone numbers are 78

You may want to use Padin Taxi (787-644-3091). For about $20pp, they will pick you up at the ferry and drive you to San Juan.

Unless you have only carry-on luggage, you could be cutting it close. The ferry leaves Fajardo @ 4:30. By far the easiest way to get to Culebra is on Isla Nena Airways. ($135.00 round trip per person)

Our experience with Padin's taxi service was most positive. They proved to us they can be counted on to meet you when and where they say they will. Our plane was not on time and did not come in
