Christmas day on Culebra
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hi:

We're planning to make a day trip from Fajardo via ferry on Dec 25th.

Based on advice in this
forum, I've been trying to contact the reservation line with very little
luck :-(. Plan is to buy the tickets a day or two in advance once we get
there.

I did call Mamacita's and they claim they will be open. However, I called a place for Snorkeling rentals and they said they will be closed and warned me that there will be no place to rent them on Culebra. Plan is to lug it with us.

Questions.

1. Will basic facilities (like showers and toilets) at the beach be open?

2. Is it easy to get from the ferry stop to the beach? I am assuming some taxis will be running?

3. Will there be some kiosks and/or food stalls open?

4. Anything else I need to be aware of given that it's Christmas day?

Since the trip is just around the corner, would appreciate a response
asap.

Thanks!

Rags

1 - facilities will be available at Flamenco

2 - there will be vans there when the ferry arrives in Dewey to take you to Flamenco beach. ~$3 pp

3 - I assume but not sure

4 - If it's windy out of the Northeast then hike the path West to Rosario beach. Good for swimming and snorkeling. Will be out of the wind and surf.

Have fun and Merry Christmas.

The traihead to Carlos Rosario is at the rear of the parking lot. Significantly better snorkling there.
