I want to rent a car from SJU, drive it for a couple of days and then end the rental in Fajardo. What rental agency, if any, will allow this service? Any advice will be appreciated.

Avis - you can pick up at SJU and drop off in Cieba. Just down the road from Fajardo. They'll drop you off at the ferry dock.

Enterprise can also do this type of arrangement. The last time we did a one-way rental, though, we had to make the arrangements by phone, rather than online.

Also Thrifty. We rented the car in Fajardo. They picked us up at the ferry dock. We dropped the car off in San Juan a week later. They charged us a $60 fee. I think the total for a week was around $325 or so.

I did this one through Avis, from Fajardo Drop off at SJU... its cheaper than renting a taxi. You get an option to visit at El Youque or drive around the crazy streets of PR...

We just did a car rental last week. We rented from Charliecar, and got a 3 door Toyota Yaris. To have more flexibility, we chose to rent the car the entire week we were in Puerto Rico and leave it parked at the ferry terminal in Fajardo. The car rental for 7 days was $250, plus another $40 for parking in Fajardo while we camped at Flamenco. We were really happy we did this, it cost a little bit more than 2 one way rentals, but we had the security of having a vehicle whenever we needed it.

Camping at Flamenco was absolutely beautiful, but the heat at night was a little too much for me. Instead of camping for 5 nights, we only did 3. Since we had the car waiting for us at the Ferry it made things so much easier with changing our plans.

Just wanted to throw that out there as a thought for everyone.

Enjoy Culebra!!
