can anyone tell me where maritza's guesthouse is located....my husband and I are looking for a place in Dewey to say for a few nights after a week of camping on flamenco but we want to return our rental to be able to walk from town to our lodgings. :) thanks

Good evening,
As a GH owner here I'd say I'd likely know all of the businesses & I'm not familiar with this property.

We are within walking distance to town. You can checkout out website at http://www.palmettoculebra.com.

Best,
Terrie

Thanks Terrie...Maritza emailed me yesterday with info and pics of her place but like I said, we really want to be close to town. Before your response I had already checked out your place and ALL the Glorious reviews!!!! You guys seem to really have your act together and I briefly considered your place but upon reading reviews on tripadvisor I got the impression that you were a 10-20 walk from town and my husband recently had surgery preventing us from that. We do plan on eating at BarbaraRossa's while we're there (God, I hope she's still open). Are you close to her....maybe we'll stop by and say hi!!!! :)

Good afternoon,
We are a short distance (1/2 mile) from town, an easy walk. There are also grocery stores/rest. closer than town to us.

Not sure who the Capt. Luis/bio bay is from your other post, either..

The accommodation that you mention is possibly not an official business (perhaps why I am not familiar with it). Official businesses pay taxes, have the appropriate business permits, fire safety permits, etc.

Best,
Terrie

Hi again Terrie...thanks for the heads up regarding Maritzas....I would prefer to support tax paying businesses. And kudos to you for your extra efforts for trying to keep Culebra from being overthrown by ferrell animals....hopefully some tax dollars will be earmarked to help with your efforts :) (and to revamp your ferry system...I'm so glad you have an airport!!!)

Maritza has had her guest house for over 12 years. I would appreciate if assumptions and hearsay would be left out of this forum.

She is further from town than Palmetto.

Enjoy Culebra!

Thanks Michael...I had read a very nice review about Maritza's but couldn't find a way to contact them...my husband and I have already booked with another guesthouse but if you had a phone number or email for them to post I'm sure it would be helpful to others in the future:) w

correction...I did have an email address for Maritza's but accidently deleted it (and dumped my trash) and can't figure out how I found it in the first place :(
