Flamenco Air?
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hello again. Thanks for your speedy replies regarding March in Culebra. It was a big help. Now, one more thing - kinda imperative. How do we contact Flamenco Air to arrange transport from San Juan to Culebra? Tried to leave a reservation request on their website, and it all crashed and displayed a bunch of HTML code. No answer at either of the phone numbers on their website, or at your airport in Culebra. You're laughing now aren't you? So are we. Humor me please and tell me how to sew up this last vital thread of our trip.

Thanks,

Maji

787-724-1818
This is the number we've always used ...
always gotten a reservation.
Eventually. ;-) Sometimes first ring, sometimes longer.

Be patient, it will serve you well once you arrive on Culebra.

ps -- They fly out of Isla Grande, not SJU!

also 787 724 6464. In case you don't know, Isla Grande is the smaller older airport at the other end of San Juan..it's a $20 cab ride between the 2, and it takes 20-40 mins depending on traffic. Also Air Flamenco takes off late a lot, also occasionally early!

If you are buying round trip tickets, make sure you don't lose the second portion of the return ticket. They will charge you full price for the flight back. There are no signs posted and the attendant does not warn you.

Another perspective: they have always informed me to retain the return stub to get off of Culebra. Maybe your attendant forgot to remind you. And you are correct that there are no signs stating that point.

I have had the same experience as Geronimo. It is always stressed to us not to lose the return ticket - on the phone when we make reservations, and at the ticket counter before we board the flight to Culebra.

Happy Diving!

Same here. They ALWAYS remind us to not lose the ticket. In fact, they have told me so often that I now finish the sentence for them!

I find myself much more amusing than they do. ;-)

Thanks for the responses. I lied when I said "one more thing". A search of the forum regarding Flamenco baggage fees yielded zip. Do they charge by the pound, or the amount of space taken up - or do negotiations take place at the time of boarding? Just trying to get an idea of what kind of hit against our vacation funds we might expect.

25lb pp is free w/ flight. Includes ALL of your bags. Over 25lb they charge per lb. I forget the rate. Call then to determine.

If I remember correctly, the rate is $0.60 per pound over 25 pounds. Each person is allowed 25 pounds. The last time we flew, there were eight people in the plane, and they flew a whole different plane over with the luggage. I think we were a little bit over on the weight, but they didn't charge us.

We are leaving in three days for my second trip to Culebra, we can't wait!!
