turtles in April
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hi all,
Returning to Culebra- last time it was in February, this time the 2nd week in April. We're hoping to see turtles swimming around for underwater snorkeling photos and seems like we're early for egg hatching, but not laying. If we want to see hatchings, who do we contact, where do we go and what time of day do you have to do this? Any idea what species we may see in the water? Also, any increased shark activity due to all the turtles in the water in April?

Thanks in advance for any info......

I don't think many of us (except possibly MJ) can speak for the turtles. They tend to do what they want, when they want, where they want.

Sometimes they swim around near shore, sometimes not. I know I sound like I'm being facetious, but I'm not. When I've been lucky enough to see turtles, there has been no rhyme or reason.

Sharks do eat turtles but it's not their favorite food. You have no worries about sharks. Unless, of course, you go in the water. heh heh.
