Hola! Since John from John's publico is picking you up and driving you to Fajardo, he would be the best person to ask where to go for food and drinks near the ferry. Places open and close so frequently that sometimes one great place you went to on last year's trip is now closed. Another suggestion would be to ask the locals for somewhere "bueno, bonito y barato", a place that is good, nice and inexpensive. LOL!!! I'm sure any local will tell you where you can get good food at a reasonable price. Be sure to try the seafood and arepas while in Fajardo. Happy travels! J

If you are arriving on a weekday, you should have time to catch the 4:30 cargo ferry.

Happy Diving!

Hola! Arepas are made of a flour dough, round shaped, flattened and then fried. They can be plain or stuffed with many things such as meat, chicken or ground beef , seafood, cheese, guava or mango paste. They are one of the many delicious fried goodies that make up the "frituras" part of the Puertorrican culinary experience. Be sure to try them, Fajardo is famous for their arepas as well as the seafood. Happy travels! J

Hola! In Puerto Rico we also have another fritura similar to the fried meat pies. They're called empanadillas, also made of fried dough, stuffed with all kinds od meat, seafood, cheese, YUM! These are in the form of a semi circle. Try them all. Happy travels! J
