Does that banner at the top of the page mean this site, ie: Michael, endorses Clinton? And does that mean we are bringing politics into the forum?

Sincerely hoping not!!

MJ

HMMMM I must be missing the banner! Not seeing it.

There is no such thing as a bad vacation. Some are just better than others.

I think Google ads tries to match the page content to it's ad inventory. That facilitates target marketing. As the page changes, the ads you see may change. Wow. It must also analyze IP addresses, because it showed me an ad for Y-Kiki Divers, my local dive shop - 3 blocks away!

Google is indeed pretty good at this - MJ what were you looking at before that ad showed up?

And yes the ads are different all over.

What I do find interesting, that the advertising market has become so efficient, that even some people in Culebra prefer their ads to show up on this site via Google rather than paying me directly.

MJ, where does politics start? Where do you draw the line? Just curious, since for me sooner or later everything is about politics .. To quote Wikipedia:

"Politics is the process by which groups of people make decisions on who gets what"

Trying to avoid politics is like putting your head in the sand and then complaining that someone else made the decisions for you - no?

Enjoy Culebra!

now I just got 'Hillary or McCain - vote now' - was this the one you are talking about?

I think now we are getting these ads because we are talking about politics ..

Enjoy Culebra!

The one I saw was about Hillary only...I have no idea what I was looking at before, but it wasn't about her ;)

Well, politics is one of those words that can cover a lot, obviously. This came up a couple of weeks ago with a bunch of us sitting around. There were people from the States who live here part time. The conversation turned to politics and a few of the people who live here full time sort of disappeared, myself among them.
We talked about that later; their position, politics is a great conversational topic and enjoyed a lot at home in the States - very reasonable. And I realized that since living here, I don't discuss politics unless I know someone REALLY well.
Locally, it's seriously hot button subject, and since you don't always know who you are talking to (as in, who is related to who you are talking to), it's a subject best discussed very carefully, if at all.
Also, for myself, after living in the Virgin Islands and being livid most of the time about the political scene, I made a decision to act when I can and forget the rest of the viper pit.
So...is my head in the sand? Hey, I'm an American, I live here and I can't vote for Prez. We have very nice sand...;)
