What equipment do they rent? What is the approximate cost of renting the necessities?
Thanks

one might think a small business operator might expand into that area, I've actually never camped there (but would like to), and there seems to be a lot of questions regarding gear without a lot of rental outfits for tents or other needs.

I can't think it would be that much harder to rent a tent than a jeep or snorkel.

I have seen a lot more questions here lately than I used to on this subject.

Richard, I wonder if that's because Culebra is getting more publicity. I am new to the Culebra world, so I'm just guessing. But when Culebra was more of an "insider knowledge" island, Flamenco likely attracted people who were already campers and adventurers, or locals from P.R., all of whom own and bring their own equipment.

But now that Culebra is getting more press, it's a different type of tourist who is checking it out. Culebra used to be off the radar of the more traditional tourists.

Could this be the case?

Tents, mattresses, stoves and gas, suntan lotion, coffee, snacks, water, hammocks etc...are available at Flamenco Tent City in the parking lot.

Anyone know any specifics about cost, if the equipment is in decent shape. Trying to decide if it is worth bringing along some things.

I think everything is in pretty good shape and the guy running it is very nice. we brought tent, sleeping pads, cooler w/ food and headlamps. Rented a stove and wished we had brought inflateable mattress...which he has. Remember no glass allowed so good to bring plastic containers.

So how much do you guys think it would be to rent a tent, an inflatable mattress, cooler, a hammock and head lamps.

Am trying to decipher what would be most economical; Hotel Kokomo for two nights which would be $120, or renting all the equipment to camp.

For two nights only, you are probably better off at Kokomo

Enjoy Culebra!

I just want to be steps aways from the beach. Also we are going to San Juan to visit family, we want to go to Culebra. We just havent confirmed it, we might not know till the day of. And I dont think we could just show up at the hotel without a reservation, right?

Does anyone know how much it would cost me to rent a tent, an inflatable mattress, cooler and a hammock for two days?

Kokomo has their availability online and you can make a reservation easily the day before, online (you will get a last minute discount) - or wing it and show up, after checking that they actually do have availability!

Their website is http://www.culebra-kokomo.com/

Enjoy Culebra!
