When do we have to get to the ferry ?
Culebra, Puerto Rico

We will be coming in to Culebra on Tuesday the 17th. We will have been in San Juan that morning, having flown in the night before.
What time do we need to be in line to get tickets in the afternoon to ensure that we get to Culebra that night? We are staying at Casa Ensenada for the week in Culebra.
I've heard from some people i know in Puerto Rico that you need to get in line early to ensure you get on the ferry. But being that it is a Tuesday evening, and not a busy day ( i would imagine) i am worried.

Thanks.

Just remember that the late afternoon ferry has commuters during the week. I don't know the specifics, but didn't want you to overlook that issue.

I guess the ferry leaves at 9am you should be there at least an hour 1/2 early

on the website it says that from fajardo to culebra, on a tuesday, i should be able to get a ferry at the following times.
9:00 AM
3:00 PM
7:00 PM

since we will be in San Juan that morning, i doubt i will make the 9am ferry. And i would like to spend some time in town, and seeing the sights on the way to fajardo. Either the 3pm or 7pm ferry should do us fine. Are either of these really booked? If commuters are going home to culebra for the night, i dont wanna be left in fajardo...

To best see the sights en route to Fajardo, contact Zoraida Banks. She offers a trip via Pinones, Loiza, and Rio Grande which is gorgeous and offers a taste of history. She can be reached via e-mail at alexisa_2001@hotmail.com or call at (787) 432-1572 or (939) 475-4164. I think she operates an inexpensive B&B in San Juan as well.

Is zoriada insured to carry passengers? Does she have a taxi license?

I don't know - ask her. I think many of the ground transportation services are unregulated.

I think Ms. Rivera (Travel with Padin) has some sort of a tourist license.

Happy Diving!
