Misunderstandings
Culebra, Puerto Rico

I do hope things get resolved in this website.
FACT 1: Upon filling out the inquiry form here I did receive a huge response from proprietors on Culebra, all mostly within 24 -48 hrs. I appreciated the timely responses, their sincerity in shooting me prices as best they could far into the future, and their prompt responses in follow-up email. This would have taken me days to send out emails individually.
FACT 2: I realize that by virtue of the fact that my email address is posted, I will receive some junk mail. I guess that's the internet...isn't it. I just hope that was not the case here, Mr. Fisher states not.
FACT 3: This IS the most comprehensive site I have found on Culebra thus far. I shall continue to use it, and plan our 2003 trip thru it's info. I hope people continue to use it in a respectable manner.
Thank you.

I can't believe the business owners who are posting such slander on this forum are so eager to show themselves in such a bad light on a public forum!!! When I think of a vacation I want to go to a mellow place! Having to read through such nasty stuff makes me think Culebra isn't it! These posters are local business owners, aren't they?? I wonder how they think these posts are going to help their business????

Yes, I am a business owner here on Culebra. This whole thing started when Mr. Fisher refused to take my information off of his site (including information about me that I don't want posted on the web such as my home telephone #). And I'm not the only business owner asking him to do so. We are not doing this to be spiteful, but we feel strongly that Mr. Fisher's business ethics are not the same as ours. We also have the right to privacy -- and he is refusing to respect our wishes.

Culebra is a low-key place (Mr. Fisher is not a resident here) and we are dismayed that he is representing Culebra by selling your personal information that he gathers on this site.

I found the website of Mr. Fischer very helpful and also found a place to stay ONLY through the form I filled out. Obviously Lee does not understand that a person who makes such an effort as Mr. Fischer did with this site has to live and earn money too - very rare people can live without earning and I guess that also Ms. Lee charges you a rent when living in her apartment!!!!
Please, stop this discussion - as it reveales that you don't understand what M;r. Fischer is charging money for!!!

I have never said that this website is not helpful, nor have I said or expect that Mr. Fisher should not be making money on his site. My points are that one, he's making money without paying the necessary permits and taxes that are required here in Culebra, two, he's in addition to selling links and space (which is very reasonable I might add and I fully expect anyone with a website to do so), he is gathering personal information from the visitors and selling that information without posting his policy clearly on the page where he gathers his information (like I have on my site and any professionally done site has), and three, after many requests, refusing to take information off the site (such as my personal home telephone) that he is using and posting without my permission.

I have repeatly asked him to do so, and he has repeatly refused -- thus my posts to this forum. Other business owners are similarly treated by him, and we're just plain fed up with and frustrated by his lack of respect for us (and you the visitor).

You'll find once here in Culebra, we are mostly a peaceful, low-key and tightly knit community -- but only until our personal rights and privacy are abused.
