I decided that I needed a last minute relaxing escape for my birthday weekend.

what's the best way to find out quickly which places have availability?

also, i am a solo female traveling. which lodging options do you think are safest or me?

Try calling the folks that run Casa Enseneda (Butch and Jackie Pendergast )at 787-742-3559 or 1-866-210-0709. They run a very clean and respectable waterfront guesthouse

And all the places that have online booking - that way you avoid the time consuming back and forth ..

Enjoy Culebra!

if you're concerned about safety, well relax, but if you are cautious, I would stay closer in if possible. a few years ago a friend went ahead of us for a few days and she had no prob. as far as that. sorry don't remember where she stayed, somewhere in Puebla - Dewey - no complaints. if you haven't been it's a REALLY small town. meaning people will know your bidness and watch out for you.

I shared a plane ride with a young woman from Australia on Sunday coming back to San Juan. She was traveling by herself, and had stayed in Hotel Kokomo, which she said was "clean, basic, cheap and safe." As I said to her - every place on Culebra is safe. I would personally prefer Casa Ensenada or Villa Boheme over Hotel Kokomo.

Happy Diving!
Debbie
