Hi I.V.G. (deborah :) ),

I flew from isla grande with Vieques Air Link it was 196 total roundtrip for two. The best part of it was we were the only ones on the plane. We had an awesome pilot who took us threw the rainforest on a bit of a detour and i couldn't of been happier. I love little moments like that.
Call them and get a third quote. I enjoyed them and they were always on time and even allowed us to go tot he bakery right next door (well threw the parking lot) to the airport in culebra to bring back bread.

Check it out. can't hurt.

Good Luck
Gina

M & N Aviation lets you take 50 lbs. of lugguge (I am pretty sure of that) where as the other airlines only let you take 25 lbs then they start charging per pound. So that may help?

thanks guys.....
we have decided to use M & N only because they offer the 50lb weight allowance per person. even though we will only be in CULEBRA for 3 nights, we will however be in PUERTO RICO for 19, and although we try not to over pack we still seem to bring a lot of stuff !! thanks again !!!!

one more thing m&n offerers the option of flying directly out of SJU at a cost of $75.00 per person each-way. the cost of flying out of ISLA GRANDE is $50.00 each-way. plus you can book on-line

How hard is it to get to isla grande airport from the main airport in San Juan. Thinking about trying to safe some money.

it is about a 20 minute taxi ride. we are staying in old san juan the nite before so we do not have to rush trying to a catch another plane. overall it 's not too bad. after you get your luggage you go outside and you will find a taxi stand you just tell them where you are heading they fill out a paper to give to the driver , every destination has it's own flat rate i.e. old san juan, isla verde, condado, and isla grande airport. no hassle.
good luck !

Ryan,
It's easy to get to Isla Grande but don't forget to factor in the cost of the taxi. I think it was about 20 dollars. In that case you're not saving a significant amount. Hope this helps.

I have to agree, we just booked our flight out of SJU verses getting a taxi to Farjardo ($80) then taking Air Vieques to Vieques ($23) it in the end only cost about $10 extra per person but also saves about 2 hours of our vacation time and all the hassle that goes along with getting a taxi (hoping not to get caught in traffic etc.) , plus like said before they do allow 50 lbs and only .30 cents per pound after. So that is how we plan to do it! We cant WAIT! Less than 2 weeks away! Island Vacation Girl... how is your plans coming along? P.S. We did book our diving trip with Taz. Ooh boy ooh boy cant wait!
