We were there at Easter and enjoyed her pizza twice. Heather's was extremely busy and the pizza was excellent!

Doug,

The only Dead music lately is all in my house here in Atlanta. We cannot, believe it or not, make time in our schedules to get down there anytime soon. It's killing me!

Happy Diving!

Debbie,

I feel your pain. I'm currently out of work (hopefully soon to be remedied) so probably realistically looking at spring '07. Keep the Dead licks sharp, please!

We were just there about a week ago, it was open Friday/Saturday nights.... the wait was 45 minutes for a pizza, and after 45 minutes, they said it would be another 15 minutes, so we got our money back and left. The girl behind the counter was rude, and the pizza looked undercooked and gooey.

Gross!

I was down there May 8-13, and Heather's was open, but only on Friday/Saturday. We got a pizza on Friday, and it was good, but they did tell us 45 minutes, when it was actually over 90 minutes. I thought that was poor business practice, if it's going to take an hour and a half you should be up front about it.

As I remember, there was always a long wait, even with the prior owners. Here is a hint: Call in your order ahead of time or plan to sip a few cockktails while waiting. Either works for me. Folks it's the Caribbean, and unless things have changed, these are hand tossed pizzas, not fast food.

I haven't tasted Heather's pizza yet; they were waiting on the ovens to be put in, last time I was there. I always loved the pizza when it was the Oasis or Chucks.

I didn't expect "fast food," what I do expect is that if the wait is 90 minutes, they tell their customers 90 minutes instead of telling them 45. It's just common sense.

True Story.

The first time I visited Culebra in 1998, we were at Flamenco and around lunch time I volunteered to run to El Patio to get some delicious Cubanos sandwiches for the gang. Pulled my Jeep into the parking lot, jumped out and ran in. Here's the conversation:

Me: "I'd like five Cubanos please."
Guy Behind The Counter: "Sorry, the kitchen closes at 1:00."
Me: "Darn. By the way, what time is it? I don't have a watch."
Guy Behind The Counter: "12:30."
Me: "Oh. No problem."

The fact that I wasn't bothered in the least, and that the conversation actually made me smile ... led me to realize that I was going to love Culebra.
