Hi. I read that a many people choose to leave their cars. However, does a car a big advantage once on the island. Are there places on the island worth seeing that are not accesible otherwise??? Is getting around on a bike realistic or is the hilly terrain too difficult. What about taxis??? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think it is better to rent a Jeep at Jerry's Jeep Rentals he is a very nice guy and he only has "Vitaras" But, it is a hilly terrain.

First you should ask yourself some questions:

What kind of transportation do I need? only to the beach? lugging a lot of gear and children around?

Where do I want to go? remote places? to my accommodation (which is way out of town?)

once you have answered those and more, you will be able to decide on

- a car
- a bike
- or a boat!!!

at least imho

Hi Jay, do you know if Dick & Cathie still rent their VW thingies?
(My wife likes this buggie, our friend rides one...)
The reason i ask you, is that Dick & Cathie's # (0062) is being said not in service. Is there any other way to contact them?

In case you meet folks in a cafe, my #is 573-499-4743

Sorry for bother,
Eugene

To see the Culebra and the surrounding islands from a different and fun perspective, rent a motorboat or sailboat. See http://www.culebraboatrental.com. Also, if you stay at Casa Ensenada Waterfront Guesthouse, which is where Culebra Boat Rental is, you get a $50 discount on motorboat rental. See http://www.casaensenada.com.
