First timers in Culebra 2006

I am trying to arrange vacations for 2 families this summer. We are trying to find a house that can accomodate both families (total 4 adults 4 children). Have looked over the list of various guest houses and would like feedback on Casa Ensenada and Culebra Ocean View. Specifically I have the following questions:

1. How near the beaches?
2. How near restaurants?
3. Are these location well kept (i.e. clean)?

We are planning on taking the ferry from Fajardo and leaving our rental cars their. Does anyone know about parking for 3-4 days?

Thanks for any response!

You may be happier renting an entire house from Culebra Island Realty or Vacation Planners, rather than a few rooms at the guesthouses you have listed. Neither Casa Ensenada nor Culebra Ocean View are near the beaches. Flamenco is a 10 minute drive from either; Zoni is 20-25 minutes. It's possible to rent a house much closer to Zoni with a full kitchen and yard for the kids to play (when they're not at the beach). See: http://www.culebraislandrealty.com/Rental_Listing/rental_property_information.htm and http://allvacationreservations.com/searchresult.php?compid=42

Ensenada is within walking distance of restaurants. There is a restaurant on-site at Culebra Ocean View, but you really need a car to get other places from there. It is located high on a hill that is a brutal walk back up. Coming down's not bad. . .

You can park your car in the Fajardo lots for $5/day. The lots are fenced and seem secure. We have done it with no problems.

Happy Diving!
Debbie

Some houses may be the best accommodations for families, but many have a 7 night minimum.

Guesthouses rent for shorter terms, although we have many weekly and monthly rentals.

Casa Ensenada has three rental units, sleeping 2-4 each or 10 combined (or 13, with cots). Each unit has a separate entrance, kitchen facilities, a hot water sink, a private bathroom with hot shower, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and satellite TV.

The two larger units, Grande and Estudio, sleep 4 people and are right next to each other. They walk onto the patio -- right on the Ensenada Honda with it's own dock and a free double kayak. Also, lots of lounge chairs, a picnic table and grill.

Renting Casa Ensenada is like having your own cabin right on the ocean. Yet, you can walk out the front door and be within walking distance of a number of restaurants, gift shops and grocery stores and on the bus route to Flamenco Beach... a $2, 10 minte ride..

Our rooms are kept very clean. I refer you to the guest reviews on our website at www.casaensenada.com. You can also click on it's listing in the shelter section of this website.

There is gated parking for your car near the ferry.

I have sent you information separately with a more detailed descriptions and how to reserve a room.

I hope you consider staying at Casa Ensenada.
