Looking for a place in or near Dewey in late Jan or early Feb
Culebra, Puerto Rico

HI- my previous trips to Culebra have either been alone or 2 couples and I've always stayed at Villa Fulladoza. this trip will be my husband and I, one or two of my brothers and a female friend. I'd like to stay near town and on the bay in a house that we could split the tariff and the cooking. We would need 3 b.r.'s. Any suggestions?? Thanks

Did you check culebraislandrealty.com? You may be able to find what you are looking for through them. There are several listings for rent near Zoni Beach and some listings close to Dewey. They would be who I'd recommend.

I would try Vacation Planners--they have a ton of different types of lodging--I'm sure one would fit what you are looking for. Their listings are on allvacationreservations.com and select "Puerto Rico" from the drop down list and then click on "Vacation Planners Listings". Good luck and have fun!

There is a perfect three bedroom apartment that I can't seem to find information on - please ask Jim at Culebra Island Realty about Villa Violette. He sold it recently, but it doesn't appear on his website anymore as a rental. Perhaps he can get you in contact with the new owner? Anyway, it's a three bedroom, one bath, very spacious second floor apartment with an awesome view of the bay. It is in Barriada Clark, on the street where the playground is located. We rented it as a couple a few years ago, and loved it. I have noticed that the new owner has made many nice improvements. He must be renting it out himself; hopefully Jim will give you some information to get in touch with the new owner.

Happy Diving!
Debbie

That property (one upstairs apartment and one downstairs) is now listed through Vacation Planners. You can follow my instructions above to get the info on it. It does look to have awesome views!

Vacation planners will suck you money, go to local hotels.
Villa Boheme, Villa Fulladosa, etc.

If I were you I would not pay more than 90. to 100. dollars per night. for each two persons.

Captain-

That is an unfair charge to level at Vacation Planners. They do not "suck you money" (sic).

In fact, last year we had 5 families rent through Vacation Planners for a 10-day period in February. At the last minute one of the houses fell through, due to NO FAULT of Vacation Planners. Mike McCarty not only found us new accomodations, he did so at a financial loss to himself. He was far more concerned with our happiness than his monetary gain.

Is this not to say that one cannot get great accomodations from other sources: other rental agents, private homes, local hotels. You can. But your post almost inferred that Vacation Planners sucks people's money without regard for anything else.

Not true. Not even close to being true.

Frank

p.s. -- I am curious Captain ... have you actually ever rented from Vacation Planners? If not, perhaps you should just keep your thoughts to yourself. I certainly don't post on items pertaining to boating. I'll leave that to the "experts" such as yourself.

We are the new owners of Villa Violette. You can email or call us at 516-810-4414 or 516-810-4454. We do rent both the upstairs and downstairs apartments. Barbara
