Ferry Parking in Fajardo

Is there a safe place to park your rental car for two nights at the Fajardo Ferry or is it even possible to bring the rental car on the Ferry to Culebra for two days (feb 26-28).

Also it was recommended by a friend in San Juan that we do not take the ferry under any circumstances (and that we fly to Culebra instead) because of some recent problems with the ferry.

Has anyone heard anything about this or have any recommendations?
