Last I heard they were sharing it with Vieques but that a couple of new ones had been rented and were underway to PR.

The Ferry is a good source of transportation if you are patient and can tolerate the bureaucracy that has formed over the years with the controlling employees of the ferry ports. Like most areas of the world government employees like that slight power they have over the average citizen or tourist.
Just remember the U.S.A. tax payers fund the majority of the cost to operate the Ferry systems in Puerto Rico ,Vieques, and Culebra .
Have fun , time flies!

We just spent 6 days in Culebra. We took the ferry both ways without difficulty. We were also here in February and took it both ways without problem then also. Cheap, mostly on time and comfortable enough. I do encourage you to get tickets from Fajardo to Culebra early, especially on the weekends. The ticket window opens at 2am, and some locals start lining up at that time. If you show up at 8:45 to buy tickets, they may be sold out

Shannon
