We are planning on camping on the beach flamenco. Also to rent bicycles for the week.

Does anyone have any tips on what we should plan for or do?

I hear Zoni beach is worth a visit...what else?

Food ideas?

Your thoughts are appreciated. Both local and tourists.

the campground has been closed for two weeks and I think it's going to be closed for two more. I would call ahead.

I was just down at the flamenco beach and the campground is closed and the gate is locked to Carlos Rosario. If you want to go there you need to go by boat.

Do you know if they are revamping the facility? Also, can you still hike over the hill to Carlos Rosario?

I don't see them doing anything to the facility and at the moment you cannot hike over to carlos rosario unless you want to climb the fence.

Hi, I'm also planning a trip to Culebra and my intention is to camp at Flamenco Beach, although I will be going there in late november. Any information on the campground and whether it operates or not will be very appreciated.
My trip will be mostly for scuba diving so fi anyone has any tips or suggestions, they are most wellcome.
thanks

I think the campsite is closed for the month of september. After all, it is the peak of hurricane season and the lowest point in the tourism season.
You should go to the shelter section on the website and find the phone number for the campsite and call them in advance.

The best thing about the campsite is that you are really close to the water. You should take your tent, repellent(very important) and find a spot with a lot of breeze.

In the middle of this season ice is a precious commodity in the campsite, you should get a big cooler. Also, the next store is a litle far away so you should bring your supplies with you. There are stores near the airport and on the way to the campsite from the docks.

Glass bottles in the campsite are forbidden, they will check you, you are warned.

If you need anything you can e mail me at dansatiago@yahoo.com

take care and enjoy culebra

Daniel

I hope everyone is safe after the hurricane.
