Culebra after Irma and Maria

I just came back from Culebra as always it was amazing! Yet Irma and Maria's destruction looms over the island.I went to Flamenco; though the official entrance is not open there is an entrance to part of the beach next to Flamenco Villas.
We walked Flamenco but security people told us not to go further as the authorities are worried about old munitions dredged out by Maria and Irma.
Culebra is trying to get better but there is still a lot to do. Main roads are still full of potholes; so driving is slow. The big island is also trying to recover but progress will be slow--

We visited Luz at El Eden--it was as always delightful!! Most restaurants are operating. Dinghy Dock is till remodeling--it promises to be a wonderful event when they open for business.

Hello all - As of today I'm hearing reports on some pages on Facebook that Flamenco is 100% open again, kiosks and all. Can anyone here corroborate those reports? Thanks!

To quote (USA today) Carla Campos, from PRTC:

"The beach looks better now than it did before the storms because the sand is whiter and the contrast between the blue water and the green mountains is simply spectacular.”

Enjoy Culebra!
