Well, after you pay the checked bag fee I doubt you'll save much money. One year we bought some meat in Fajardo and brought it over to Culebra on the ferry, but bought everything else on island. We like to support the local businesses as much as we can, and for most stuff the prices aren't that bad. Not as high as in the BVI's or St. John, although the selection is more limited. If you are flying from SJU to Culebra there are weight restrictions for baggage, so I would say bringing food over is only feasible if you are taking the ferry.
