Thanks Tim. Yes, taking into consideration everyone's abilities is critical for any water endeavors and as always respecting Mother Nature is tops.
Donna, you are most correct on the the CC Bay Crossing. There were other folks with me (30+ the year I did it) and yes the safety of coast guard boats unfortunately blowing fumes down our gullet. Was not trying to paint a picture other than my physical experience with paddle boarding.
However, the 50+ 30+mile paddle trips I've done previous and since have not included either other people or safety boats. Many of these trips becoming hairy and compromised at times. The crossing is a charity event. The real struggles and adventures occur during training and personal goal setting. To call paddling over to Culebrita "dumb" may be a bit short sighted and critical in my opinion.
None the less thank you for endorsing my choice of dive operators as my wife and I are pumped to explore the underworld together.
