Pietra is absolutely correct. Many people are completely wrong when visiting Culebra and expecting to find El Conquistador or something like it. I am a local recently relocated to the state of Ohio not because there is anything wrong with the island but because I have a young son that deserves the best education (which is somewhat lacking on the island) and I also needed to continue mine. That is the only reason I left and I must say I miss my people very much. I miss the relax lifestyle and I must certainly miss having lunch on fridays with my co-workers at mamacitas. I encourage people to visit mamacitas. Visit Culebra. But I must remind that it will be a visit like any other. Your experience will be like an other. Open your eyes and your mind and learn to appreciate the good things in life. Culebra island is one of the few unspoiled jewels in the caribbean. I dont know what will happen to it in the near future but if it were up to me I wouldn't change one bit of it. Not the people, not the restaurants or hotels or waitresses!
