Long Term Rental
Culebra, Puerto Rico

I am looking for a 2 bedroom apt/condo/house to rent from the 1st of November 2011 tru the month of March 2012. I am a resident of South Padre Island, TX and have been for 20 years. I would like to spend my winters on Culebra. My best friend of 20 yrs owns a condo in Condado but there is too much traffic, not a big fan of San Juan. I have excellent references and a steady monthly income. I also have an 11 yr old boy who will go to Abby's School. My price range is from $600.00 to $1,000.00.

You can contact me @ (956) 589-4499 or via my email: Jackiegolterman@yahoo.com

Hello,
I used to be a resident of Culebra in the 70's and 80's. My parents (Huss and Jane Malik) owned and successfully operated Villa Boheme for eight years before hurricane Hugo.
I would like a long term rental for myself, my husband and our daughter. We are thinking of comming in August, for six months or so....
We want to try it out and if we feel we can swing living in Culebra, we will stay.
I have dreamed of returning to live in my childhood home all my life. Now I would like to try raising my family there. I am still in contact with many childhood "escuelita" friends, but no one has gotten back to me about places to stay.
I saw this old forum post and thought you might be able to help me with some locations to rent. I am NOT interested in a tourist facility, I wish to live as a local would, and for the price a local would. (seeing as I am interested in living and working there...)
My range is between $500-900 for a six month lease.
Thank you for your time.
I look forward to speaking with you.

Hi Ms. Malik,

Thank you for your message. I am including a link to the website. Let me know if you still think it is appropriate for your goals. My property is not in the hotel's rental pool and can only be rented long term (minimum 6 months) (per our contract with Bahia Marina) thru Culebra Vacation Planners. VP's owner is Mike Macarthy. He is a good friend of my husband and well known in the island.
The property is a one bedroom two baths fully furnished and equipped with a two range stove, refrigerator, TV, radio, water heater and two air conditioning units-the balcony faces the bay and has a breathtaking view of Ensenada Honda; The living room has a full size futon, the bedroom has two full size beds. I hope the description helps.

If my property is not suitable I am sure Mike and his staff can assist you on your search.
