Kayaking at Dakity
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Is there anywhere close to Dakity to put kayaks in? And I do not want to drive down the hill towards Soldado with a kayak on the roof. And the lookout point going up the hill over Dakity is no place to hike down. Just wondering if there is a close launch site on that side of the honda.

Hey Geronimo,

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but yeah, tie down hard, hold on with one hand out the window, and you'll make it. My question is, where did you get your kayak? Do you own? I'm coming down next week and was going to bring my folding kayak but it's too much of a pain. I'd really like to rent a single kayak for a day or two and am trying to get recommendations.

I have some friends who live on island and they let me borrow theirs. I believe you can rent a single or double out at Tamarindo. That will be a nice area next week since the winds seem to be up out of the East. You will be out of the wind on that side. And the paddle to Luis Pena is not bad. Also the paddle up to Rosario or down to Melones is nice. You can check the wind forecast at

Try inquiring downtown at the dive shop to see who rents kayaks.

Have fun!

THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN IS IF THE JEEP WAS JERRY'S AND HE CAUGHT YOU @ PUNTA SOLDADO. Probably executation @ sunrise. Call Ken @ the Culebra Bike Shop for a kayak.787 209 2543 In the Dinghy Dock Building.

Dave, the number you posted is some retired womans residence on Culebra. She said everyone keeps calling her and she's flipping out. The bike & kayak shop's number is 787-742-0589.

Bike rentals $15.00
Snorkel and fin Rentals $10.00
Umbrellas and chairs $5.00
Kayak Rentals $50.00 daily 8-5pm
All rentals are 24 hours. except Kayak

coming soon:
Kayak Tours ,Culebra, Luis Pena and the mangroves

And I asked AmyJo about the closest launch near Dakity and she mentioned one at Club Seaborne. So I won't have Jerry chasing me down to Soldado.
