Great report -- sounds like you had a good time despite the weather.
I had posted earlier about storage lockers at SJU, and wanted to clarify, since my husband reminded me what we did with our bags. There are not self-serve lockers like we've used at many other airports during long layovers, but there is an attended luggage storage area where you can leave your carryons. You pay a couple of bucks per bag and get a claim check to reclaim your bag when you return. The cost was comparable to storage lockers at other airports. If you do a google search or look on TripAdvisor, etc., the results will say there are no lockers, but there is a place to leave bags.
