Publico from Fajardo to Old San Juan
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hello everyone,

I'll trip Puerto Rico in a few weeks. I plan to take Publico from Fajardo ferry ports to Old San John in the morning. I hear there is 'Fajardo Playa' van runs between them. Could anyone tell me the bus stop of the Fajardo where I can wait for the van? Is it far from the ferry port? Which stop I should get off? Where I can find the timetable?

On the website, it's said "If the 'Fajardo Playa' vans are already gone, you can still take the cars on the regular Fajardo plaza route. Unless the driver agrees to take you all the way to the airport or port (they are not supposed to do it) you will end at the Fajardo plaz". So is there a van runs from Fajardo plaza to Old San John? Where I can find the timetable for it?

Thank you!

and i dont know of a publico that runs that line. but i would definately be interested in finding out about it.

you can make arrangements with a publico to pick you up and take you to OSJ. the cost is $65 to $80 plus tip if you agree in advance.

they will pick you up right outside the ferry dock.

otherwise you will have to take a short publico ride(or walk) to the bus plaza near the post office and banco popular. i think the cost is $1

Thank you so much. So if I walk to the plaza, I can find the publico to OSJ, rite? Can I find one around 8 or 9 am?

Publicos do not have schedules. They run when they have enough passengers = make enough money to go. When you take a publico and pay $65 you are basically paying for all the passengers and it becomes a taxi. Regular fares, if you are willing to get a little squeezed from time to time are way less!

Enjoy Culebra!

And to answer the question, there are no publicos that run directly to Viejo San Juan. You need to go to Rio Piedras and then from there the regular bus.

Enjoy Culebra!
