Visiting from St Thomas, anchor or moorings?
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Thinking of sailing over from St Thomas and spending a few days enjoying the peace and quiet. Its been a year or two since our last visit, have any public moorings been installed or should we anchor? I usually anchor in Ensenada Honda, anyone have a better suggestion?

Thanks!
Dave

Lots of public moorings, Dave.

My favorite mooring, though, is near the point between Tamarindo and Carlos Rosario beaches. (I prefer the Tamarindo side.) It's peaceful, beautiful and there are no roosters. The same cannot be said for mooring near Dewey!

You can walk over the hill to Flamenco and catch a publico into town for a couple bucks. The hike is picturesque, as is Flamenco.
