Knock! Knock!
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Who's there?

Alpaca

Alpaca who?

Alpaca lunch for Flamenco Beach.

:-)

I couldn't resist - I heard a slightly (of course) different version on the radio on the way home. It's like MJ and hurricanes following her around. Everywhere I turn, I am confronted with llamas and their ilk.

Happy Diving!
Debbie

not bad Debbie, but sorry there are only 2 classic Knock-Knock jokes in my experience.

first one: "I've got a really good one - you start"

the other was coined by a dearly missed co-worker, the best I ever had the pleasure to supervise and was mildly (well I don't know the right term - hindered?) but he came up with the very best random dada phrases.

"Knock knock."

"who's there?"

(and with his sly smirk responded) "nobody?"

There's a very fine man named Obama
Who's too old to run to his mama
So when the pressure is much
And he needs a sweet touch
He knows just where to turn: his llama

dangit mort that's a limerick.

and if I had time to respond
I'd say it's beyond
my care or my will
to give a $#|t.

hey free verse - sue me.

(I hope this animosity doesn't make Thanksgiving too awkward - I still hope you simmer the gravy and I hope whatshisname keeps his mitts off the giblets this year).

good lord there are more serious and worthwhile issues and questions in reason threads.

like the one that got bounced recently titled "Sure I can find 'Goya' brand in the stores, but howzabout 'das Mausenmacher'?"

it was only up for about 20 minutes and I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Richard, I'm feeling kind of low right now. I had thought that I was the first to link Obama and llamas in a public forum, and I was taking no small amount of pride in it.

But then I googled "Obama llama"...

Another universal joke. Last night I was talking with my daughter as she was knitting (she is an awesome knitters, next season you'll see her wine bottle holders/bags/hats at the cart) about their move to Portland. Suddenly she says, and MOM! Dan wants us to get llamas, or maybe alpacas...I could use that wool to knit all sorts of things!
I didn't have the energy to even try to explain...

If she's serious, we have recently discovered we have friends in Vermont that raise them.

less snow in Oregon. but I hear they spit like camels and are generally nasty beasts.

but if she's willing to card the fiber, wash the feces out and eventually spin, more power to her. personally at that point I'd just buy someone else's effort.

that's always the question, if I can make it, why buy it vs. if I can buy it, why make it?

yes Michael, one of your gremlins has deleted other peoples posts quite quickly including the recent ones "Jonesing for Crack?" "Stained Glass Workshop Classes" and "Are Handguns Really Illegal on Zoni?"

There once was an excellent knitter
Who once started was never a quitter

"Get the llama something good for its dinner,
I'm more of a type that's a spinner.

We'll feed it some grass, I'll give picking a pass
and hire someone to clean up its litter"

MJ, once again you've managed to tunnel your way to the very core of life's meaning. I will ponder your post until I feel I have truly grasped its significance.

As for Richard's posts, though, I have no illusion that I'll ever truly understand them. Perhaps I'm not worthy.

Hey, Richard, I can answer the third thread that you listed. Handguns are not just allowed on Zoni, but encouraged. Which is why it's usually deserted.

But for someone that doesn't mind the possibility of getting shot, Zoni can be a very special and relaxing experience.

Hola! Here goes, I hope you like it. LOL!!!!

Pepe, La Llama
loved to drink pina colada
under the cool shade of a palm tree.

He decided to pitch a tent
to Flamenco beach he went
joining good friend Mort in Section E.

They partied all night
the morning came, Mort took flight
the llama was a sad sight indeed.

His island friend MJ
made joyful his day
encouraging him to salsa with glee.

Debbie a plan she did contrive
inviting all for a fun dive
Pepe with delight had a quick pee!

Richard sailed them to Culebrita
aboard he had a great siestecita
waking up to merengue music and whiskey.

Michael informed them of the time
to go malnourished would be a crime
I'm famished, we're hungry!

Jeannie arrived with mofongo
arroz, habichuelas, asado and mondongo.
What a great meal, YIPPIE!

Happy travels! J

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo, Jeannie!

I don't think Gr8fuldude watches this forum, but I'll tell him about it.

Happy Diving!
