Flights and Airline Phone Numbers!
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Our flight will be arriving on a Sat. at 3:10. Should we choose to take a flight over to Culebra and our flight from Orlando arrives on time, will we have time to take a cab over to Isla Grande to catch a flight on into Culebra? Also, since we will be taking our scuba gear and its weight limit will be over (is it 25 or 35?), would it be possible for us to just buy an extra ticket? That way we will assure our gear will arrive when we do. We will probably do the charter on Air Flamenco from Vieques to Culebra. It is only $25 each and requires a minimum of 4 to reserve. Again, we would pay for the 4. When leaving Vieques and flying to IG, we hope to do the same. Is it feasible to purchase an extra tickets this way? TIA.

I think Vieques Air Link flies from Isla Grande to Culebra at 4:45PM (last flight).

Assumptions:
Your flight arrives on time (3:10 pm)
It may take 30-minutes to collect check-in luggage (3:40 pm)
This time of day, the taxi to Isla Grande can take 35-minutes due to rush hour (4:15 pm)

Therefore, you'll have maybe 45-minutes "cushion time". I'd say you'll probably make it, even though it's a bit close. If you don't make it on time, they'll book you at no extra charge on their next available flight (probably next day).

They may charge 29 cents per pound of luggage over 25-lbs per traveller. You may have to explain your scuba circumstance to them ahead of time regarding getting an additional ticket for just you gear. I'd say if your less than 100-pounds of luggage, you, should be ok (especially if your body weight is relatively low).

Good Luck!

yeah really, some things to add to the transport section next update Michael? this will come up again, but some of us do check those tabs from time to time.

also if you're running late - use those numbers and let them know you're on the way, as long as it's still light out and the weather's ok, these small airlines are much more flexible about closing the gate a few minutes here or there. 3-4 people can be half a flight after all.
