Flight to Culebra and Bugs
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hey everyone!
I'm coming to Culebra next week and I have a last minute question.
I want to fly to Culebra one-way.
Who should I book with? Are the prices all the same?
And how far in advance is it normal to book?

Also, how are the mosquitoes at this time of year?

Thanks!
Claire

I would go ahead and book your flight ASAP! either with Flamenco Air or Vieques Air Link, the prices are basically the same, and there are only so many flights.

Sorry, didn't run into any mosquitoes on Culebra but I wasn't out on the beach at night.

I just booked with Air Falmenco round trip flight by calling 787-724-1818 -
I've 3 weeks before departure. The gentleman was quick - courteous - professional.

Last year I waited to book my return flight using a cell phone from Culebra; I waited until I had 3 days to book. VAL had the only available flight and I had to depart early am from Culebra.

Good luck with whichever company you choose.

Flamenco Air & Vieques Air link reservation numbers are (FLAIR) 787-721-7332/(VAL)1-888-901-9247

Usually the local Culebra office can only handle same day bookings.

Have a good trip!

and bugs are the same year-round. what's more important to consider: are you on the bay or the coast.

Thanks everyone!
I had read that it was around $100 round trip, but I called one of the airlines yesterday and they said it was around $100 each way. Is this true across the board? I probably will have to take the bus in that case.

hmmm $100 each way doesn't sound right....try calling again? Be sure to tell them you want to fly out of Isla Grande airport, 15 minute taxi from SJU.

See my note above - access to the 787-724-1818 reservation number from the Air Flamenco web-site http://www.airflamenco.net/

$100 - round trip.

100 - 120 RT sounds about right for air. and one-way is usu. pro-rated unlike big airlines.

my comment about bay vs. coast meant there seem to be more around the bay. but spray and other deterrants are readily available.

Isla Nena from the Int'l airport was $190.00 one way for 2 guests today. Flamenco is $100.00 r/t.

that's an odd discrepancy in prices, were your guests flying last minute?

Isla Nena is considerably higher than Flamenco and Vieques..guess because it is out of the big airport..but still with factoring in the taxi to Isla Grande airport Isla Nena is still higher priced.

There is no such thing as a bad vacation. Some are just better than others.
