Reliable publico
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Getting around the island, including to less common places, was no problem whatsoever with the publico at 787-362-8516. I forgot the name of the service (something like Playa Flamenco) but they have 3 or 4 vans, and we were able to get dropped off and picked up at further places than on the normal beach-airport-port route by calling. Of course on the usual beach-airport-port route we just took whichever publico came first.

Much appreciated, Christene. Sounds like we can save a lot of money by not renting a car when we are there for the next two weeks!

Did you go to any of the more remote beaches like Zoni?

My understanding is that from the intersection by the airport to Zoni is $14pp/per way. Please do share if there is someone that goes for less as I'll update our info. for guests.
Thanks!
Terrie

$36 to Zoni for two? may as well rent a jeep for the day and run errands after...

but every story has its exception.

Yipes indeed! We'll take your advice and rent a car for a couple days so that we can see some of the remote beaches and run some errands.

Hi there, I didn't go to the more remote places beaches for lack of time, but I did go deeper see some other closer beaches that were off the main route. I agree, renting a car for a few days sounds very nice, but surely it is unnecessary to have a car for an entire 2-week stay for the days you'll mostly be in and around Playa Flamenco & Dewey!
