Culebra Accommodation
Culebra, Puerto Rico

My wife and I went to Culebra 3 years ago for our honeymoon, and have been dreaming of returning ever since. On that trip, we traveled in style, renting a luxurious house off the beaten path as well as a Jeep (from Jerry).

We are finally returning, in Feb, and probably will travel on a smaller budget this time. We are thinking of perhaps staying somewhere in/near town, and not necessarily renting a jeep (at least not for the whole week). We would like somewhere nice and comfortable, doesnt need to be fancy but some charm would be nice. We´d love to have a kitchen, bbq, and possibly a deck area, patio or garden (or similar, to relax outdoors, read, etc...).

Casa Ensenada seems to fit that bill (we actually visitied briefly last time), any thoughts on this? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

thanks Debbie. Have you stayed there yourself? We rented a house from Jim last time we were on Culebra (Nido de Amor). In fact I wrote to him earlier asking him what he suggested...

Villa Fulladoza and Villa Boheme are both worth a look. My wife and I have stayed at both.
Have a great trip.

Josh,

Yes, we have stayed there (in May 2003), and loved it.

Happy Diving!

hello,
we will also be in Culebra in Feb. When are you going
? Just booked our flight with Flamanco. Counting the days.

There is no such thing as a bad vacation. Some are just better than others.

We also stayed in Casa Pueblo and I must say that I wouldnt want to stay anywhere else. The location is very convenient for walking anywhere in town (especially after an evening of sipping on beverages)...the pool is really an added bonus. After a long day of beaching it up its nice to sit on the porch...turn the pool light on and have a relaxing dip in fresh water. The only thing I would recommend is that if you are not there make sure you do not leave any valuables on the porch...we had a slight incident with some local kids taking an afternoon dip when we werent there. We had been out for the day and came back to see police chasing kids around the house. From what I heard it was the only freshwater pool in town and the kiddos know this. They didnt do anything as far as damage but I would recommend locking the doors regularly. I will problably get a lot of flack for this but the bedroom in Casa Pueblo has an AC unit...also an added bonus for those muggy days. Its a super clean house and fantastic location...big thumbs up on this place.
