We stayed at Casa Ensenada on the 2nd and 3rd of May 2009. It was great, the manager was both helpful and very friendly. Would definitely go back to Culebra and would stay in Casa Ensenada again. It is an easy walk to the ferry, Mamacitas, the Dinghy Dock. A bit longer to the airport and jeep rental places, but not bad. Publicos drive right by which is a plus!

Casa Ensenada was definitely one of the best places we stayed during our week in puerto rico (weekend on Culebra). The Staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Pequeno unit. It was affordable, and being there really made you feel like you had your own home on the harbor. During our stay we body surfed at Flamenco beach, which was great. One day we rented a jeep (totally worth it) and drove all over the island beach hopping then went to dinner at juanita bananas up on the hill. This was one of the best meals in the most beautiful settings. Our last day there we hired a super nice guy named Rob from dinghy dock to take us to Culebrita Island, which is stunning, just be careful of the bees which will swarm around you if you're holding fresh water. apparently they're dehydrated. The beach we saw there was probably the most beautiful ever, and the tide pools are extremely cool. All in all it was a great experience, We'd stay there again.

We went to Casa Ensanada on april 25-26 09, and it was awesome. We felt like we were in our own beach house, everything we needed was there in that confortable room. Even it was a rainy weekend we spend 2 days of relaxing and unforgetable moments.
Strongly suggested.

I went to Culebra and stayed at the Grande apartment. It was very clean and confortable. My family included a 4 months twins girls and a 4 years boy. We used our boat and docking at Casa Enseanada was very easy. The Manager was very helpful and she was availble for any need we may have. I look forward to staying again but with other relatives and friends because I want them to experience Culebra and Casa Ensenada.

We stayed at Casa Ensenada from 11/21 - 11/25 totaly wished we could have stayed longer. We were in the Grande room which was more than enough space for the two of us. The views of the harbor were beautiful and the breeze that comes in through the kitchen after a day out in the beach was perfect. Nights looking at the stars while sitting at the end of the dock were exactly the kind of break from the hustle & bustle of NYC. Everyone we dealt with at Casa Ensenada was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. All the little shops are just lovely and our trips to Flamenco, Carlos Rosario, Tamarindo and Punta Soledad beaches were absolutely breathtaking. Dinhgy Dock had some great fresh Huck fish and Mamasita's on Saturday night was loads of fun. Everyone we encountered on this beautiful island was soo warm and welcoming. We already are planning to come back to Puerto Rico sometime next year with Culebra and Casa Ensenada as our main objects of interest. Thanks for a great experience!

Imagen a place where you wake up breathing the clean pure fresh breeze of the sea where an ocean of cristal clear water filled with exotic fishes is your back yard with hosts that are as friendly as your family can be. At any time you can get your fishing rod and at just a few steps out side the house you can get the catch of the day or just go for a swim. Take a walk down the freindly barrio and go to the local bar for a fresh cool beer while you enjoy the sound of the ocean and enjoy a great meal in peace with your family the travel to the local beach of flamenco enjoy a day at a white sand cristal clear beach with your wife and kids and go snorkling to the local reefs and loose your self in the most gratifing and beutifull site of the life in the sea. That was my experience at casa ensenada. I stayed at the Studio along with my wife kid brother and a friend. place was clean beutifull and quiet. enjoy your stay at CASA ENENADA, Culebra

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Ensenada. We stayed four nights in the Pequeno room and found it to be adequate for our needs. It was nice sitting on the bay and I was able to take the kayak out for a spin. The folks that worked there were helpful.

We stayed in the Pequeño room over Memorial Day weekend and had a wondeful experience at Casa Ensenada. Our room was equipped with everything we needed, was clean, comfortable and was more than enough space for two. Having a fridge and toaster was great for keeping and preparing breakfast- also the free luggage storage really did give us an extra day on the beach. Flamenco beach is absolutely picturesque, and Carlos Rosario is an amazing, secluded beach for great snorkeling (totally worth the hike.) Mamacita's was the best for nightlife- try the bushwacker. Overall, a wonderful stay, thanks!!

I had a memorable vacation at Casa Ensenada. I stayed in the Studio, cozy, clean and clear. There you have all you need: a litte freezer, towels, air conditioning, etc. The dock behind Casa Ensenada is amazing. You can relax and see the dawn and the evening. All three days I ate at Mamacitas, delicious! During day you can eat at kiosks near Playa Flamenco, cheap and delicious also. Carlos Rosario Beach is amazing. You can snorkel in the same shore. I saw a lot of beautiful fishes and a octopus. Many says you can see turtles also. Playa Flamenco is world class. I can assure. You will feel like in Corona Adverting commercial. I'm crazy to get back to Culebra. A hidden paradise in the Caribbean.

This was my second visit to Culebra and stayed both times at Casa Ensenada. The deck is great, and this time I was lucky enough to get the Grande Suite. Days on the beach at Flamenco, eating out and meeting really nice folks, Culebra is the ideal relaxing vacation. I plan on returning many times and will always stay at Casa Ensenada. Great location, clean, beautiful harbor view. Within walking distance to most everything! Thanks Butch and Jackie!

Cathy and I visited Culebra for the first time in April 2008. We stayed in the Pequeño Room at Casa Ensenada. Our hosts were wonderful. Jackie's emails provided a great deal of information to help us get there and get around. We rented a vehicle from Jerry. We found Zoni Beach to be our favorite. What an incredibly beautiful place!

WE were only going to stay at Casa Ensenada for 3 nights but we loved the island of Culebra so much and our hosts were so helpful that we extended our stay an extra night. We stayed in the Pequeno room which was pleny of room for the two of us. We used the grill to cook a couple of times. The view from the back is fabulous. Everything we needed was supplied. I would recommend Casa Ensenada for a pleasant stay. It is within walking distance to everything. We only rented a jeep one day to go snorkling. It is easy to take the taxi to the beach from town. Only two dollars. I would like to thank Jackie for sending us to Barbara Rosa's,best place we ate on the island. We are already talking about going back.

We stayed in the Estudio at Casa Ensenada for three nights in early March of this year. Going to Culebra Island and staying here was the highlight of our trip. The gracious hosts helped us with pre-trip planning etc. and ideas upon arrival (Dinghy Dock..Mamacitas..Pandeli for breakfast (we also got lunch packs from there)...and eating from the vendors at Flamenco. Casa Ensenada is in walking distance of these "downtown" restaurants and you can catch a bus to Flamenco Beach. Once we got to the island we were able to RELAX and get away from it all. The beaches are beautiful and not crowded. It was great to be able to go to a beach for the day and come back and hang out on the back patio with a good book. I ran out of time as my sister and I had plans for the kayak and we didn't get to it! Next time, we will plan on a longer stay. If you are looking for a place to relax, that has everything you need without being pretentious.. Casa Ensenada is the place for you.

(jan 8 to feb 5 2008)this was our third time at casa ensenada.we have stayed in pequeno and estudio, both being clean and comfortable, with cable tv, airconditioning, kitchen amenities, practical stuff etc...more than listed on the site.one of the best things is the large communal private patio on the water where you can watch the harbor action, barbeque your dinner, and watch the stars...almost everything is walkable..we have never rented any vehicle.we have walked to most all the beaches...small buses can drive you to flamenco beach for 2$ where you can laze, swim play and have lunch from the various kiosks..or you can arrange with a taxi to take you some place and pick you back up.... supermarkets, bakery, liquor store, restaurants, ice cream shop, laundromat, bars are close to home in dewey...favorite snorkelling beaches are melones, carlos rosario, louis pena(you need a boat for this)soldado beach, culebrita..once you are established, your hosts can suggest places according to your interest and tell you how to get there. culebra is a very laid back non glitzy place you will hate if you want casinos nightclubs and golf courses.it does not cater to tourists who don't want to slow the pace and let the casual environment lull you..we love it ..if you know how akumal on the yucatan( now riviera maya) was twenty years ago, culebra is very similar....we feel it is another home

We had such a great time in Culebra that we did not want to leave!!! Casa Ensenada played a big part in making our vacation so memorable. It was extremely clean, comfortable and really cosy! Butch and Jackie were extremely helpful and they provided us with insider's information on the best beaches and restaurants to go. We missed breakfast on the dock, kayaking to watch the sunset and hanging out with Cocoa! We will definitely come back to Casa Ensenada the next time we are in Culebra.

We stayed at Casa Ensenada in November for 4 nights and had an amazing time in Culebra! The people are SO friendly; the snorkeling is fantastic (Melones beach); and Flamenco and Zoni beaches are absolute gems! The drive to Zoni beach on a scooter was so beautiful! Perhaps the best view in the Caribbean is at the top of the hill just before Zoni beach, looking at Culebrita and St. Thomas. Butch & Jackie (and friendly Cocoa) are wonderful hosts, and they provide the perfect mix of being helpful and giving you privacy. The Pequeno room was just fine for two people, and you definitely can't beat the price. It's a perfect location to walk to restaurants, stores, etc. The woman at the dive/gift shop next door is wonderful & very helpful. Wear lots of suncreen and OFF, and you'll be set for an incredible experience! We'll daydream about this heavenly island until we return next year!

I highly recommend a stay at Casa Ensenada and Culebra, especially if you want "small town" atmosphere, unspoiled beaches, and good snorkling. The pequeno room at Casa had everything we needed -- Jackie and Butch did a great job providing resources of all the things to do and places to go. For example, they helped us get a good deal on a jeep for a day, and suggested my favorite place to eat: Barbara Rosa for its great shrimp and red snapper, and low cost. I think 2-3 days is the perfect amount of time to spend on Culebra, unless you are a beach bum or avid scuba diver, then at least a week. Casa Ensenada is just 3 blocks from the ferry and easy walking distance to everything but the beaches, and plenty of publicos can take you there. Given our budget, I can't imagine that we could have had a better experience.

My stay in Culebra and at Casa Ensenada was out of this world. It is definitely my new favorite destination. Old favorites were Placentia, Belize, Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, and Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
I loved my room (Pequeño). Everything I needed and location was spectacular.
The kayak was a real plus too. I took it out several times for multi-hour excursions.
Also, I managed a couple days of scuba diving (with Taz) and snorkeling almost every day.
Since I ONLY had six days on the island, I didn't have time to hit many of the beaches so I will have to come back!

11/24-12/2/06 The week was not long enough for me. I enjoyed my stay on Culebra and was delighted with the choice of Casa Ensenada
for my residence while there. It was so easy to walk to town, the
Pandeli for morning coffee and a pastry and even to Flamenco Beach.
Dinghy Dock was also good for breakfast though service was slow. Life
at Mamacitas was lively and friendly. Jackie and Butch have mastered
the art of hosting their guests with the right amount of friendliness
and discretion.
I was in the perfect location as a single woman on the island. I walked
all over and always felt safe, even late evening. Jerry rented me a car
for a day to see the "other side" of the island. There are so many
stories of life on Culebra. I need to return to learn more. Barbara
Rosa's served a wonderful meal, just steps away from Casa Ensenada.
Would have liked company for the double kayak though! At night I sat
under the stars in pjs at the end of the 65 foot dock; with a warm
gentle breeze it was my version of paradise. Enjoy!

We stayed at Casa Ensenada
for only two nights (we would have stayed a third, but sadly they were
booked). Super clean, comfortable, well stocked for basic cooking,
though since our short stay was so...short we ate out. Jackie and Butch
were friendly and responsive. The garden on the bay is lovely. I would
have happily passed an afternoon relaxing there but we were too busy
running from beach to beach. We had the "pequena" room which wasn't so
pequena, but it does get some noise from street traffic (which is not
very heavy, in any event).
I'd definitely go back but for atleast a week!

You should not rule out Casa Ensenada
which is run by Jackie & Butch Pendergast. They have a room that
will fit 4 people comfortably with one bedroom having a king sized bed.
You can call 866 210-0709 or 787 742-3559 for availability and
information. They are located within walking distance to town and the
airport which makes for a very short taxi ride to Flamenco Beach. You
can also e-mail at censenada@aol.com. If you click on the Shelter
portion of this website you will get information and a virtual tour of
the facility.

we stayed here in mid-September 2006 and all i can say is WOW !! CASA ENSENADA
could very well possibly be the best value in CULEBRA as you will
definitely get any more than you pay for ! this entire place is simply
wonderful ! the rooms are clean, spacious, and well stocked with
everything you could ever need.i mean everything from nice dishes and
cookware to coolers and beach-chairs to tote around the island. plus
use of the 2 person kayak (at no extra charge mind you) ! this place is
in a prime location on, right on HONDA BAY. beautiful and within easy
walking distance to everything except the big draw beaches i.e.
FLAMENCO OR ZONI !!they however are only a short drive away !
i loved staying here and most definitely will be back next trip in
either September or October !!!
thanks Jackie and Butch.

| We loved Casa Ensenada.
Rosarito was great. The other guests were good company. Access to a
dock was terrific, although we never did get around to using the kayak.
Location was good. But most of all, there was just a pleasant feel
about the way the place was set up to welcome us - trusting and
practical. Those fake iguanas were fun. I liked the map of the US where
people marked where they came from.

| Casa Ensenada
was absolutely enjoyable!! After spending 4 looooong days on Vieques
(hint: don't go there) we were happy to make it to Culebra.Casa Ensenada was clean and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Like a posh resort, Casa Ensenada
makes sure you have any amenities you might need. We especially
appreciated the bug spray when we ran out! Our host was pleasant. We
also enjoyed the helpful hints left by other visitors in the guest
book. Casa Ensenada
is close to all that you need. If you are a snorkeler then you MUST
make the hike to Carlos Rosario Beach. Absolutely amazing! We'd stay
here again for sure! Thanks!!!

| I had a wonderful time during my stay in May at Casa Ensenada.I
rented the Grande apt. for 2 weeks and I must tell you that your
guesthouse is one of the most charming, efficient, well stocked little
lodgings I have ever seen.First of all, it was very clean and well
kept. All of the appliances are modern and in good working condition. The
windows all had glass and screens and window blinds that were all in
good working condition as well. The bathroom was modern and the stand up
shower had good water pressure as well as hot water on demand. The
ceiling fans in every room were a great feature also. The linens and
towels were soft and fluffy and clean. The kitchen was amply stocked
with nice dishes,glassware, wine goblets,pots and pans,and a good
supply of silverware and utensils for every need. There was a coffee
pot ,toaster, and microwave along with a full size refrigerator and
range. All of these were modern and clean.I loved sitting out on the
patio at the waterfront. The patio furniture was clean and in great
condition. The gas grill was much appreciated. It feels like you are at
your own house when you spend time on the patio.I thought it was very
nice that you supply coolers and beach chairs for your guests. The
foyer area in the front section of the apartments is very charming with
the hand painted decor and interesting reading material for those
looking to gain knowledge about the island. The guesthouse is at a great
location.Walk to town in a few minutes. The El Eden, Mayra, Milka,
andPandeli were all excellent places to find food, drinks,
pastries, etc. All of these are within a few minutes walk of Casa Ensenada.Overall,
I would give your little guesthouse a great rating because of all the
little things that you have added to make your apartments more
comfortable.Culebra is truly a gem of the Caribbean, and Casa Ensenada provides a great place to enjoy it.

am a seasoned Culebra traveler. I have visited the Island now three
times and wish I could get in a trip this year but it will have to be
2007. I have stayed on all three occasions at Casa Ensenada
and cannot say enough great things about this guest house or its
owners, Butch and Jackie. I would not stay anywhere else!! It is within
walking distance to absolutely everything and you can always catch a
van to Playa Flamenco for $2. Casa Ensenada
has a gorgeous back deck area and you can save money by using the nice
big grill to cook some of your meals. The free kayak is a great way to
explore, especially Iguana alley!

was a wonderful experience!Unlike the large resorts, Jackie and Butch
made our stay very personal and “homey.”Both our host and hostess were
able to relay a wealth of information about activities on Culebra as
well as the local politics.Coco, their dog, really made us feel as

distance of restaurants. We are planning on another trip to Culebra and
a reservation with Casa Ensenada is our first step.

and once again we had a fabulous time, Butch and Jackie were very
hospitable hosts. It was my abuelas first time here and she enjoyed it
very much she like sitting on the back porch and reading. We rented
bikes which was great becuase we saw a lot more of the island. We ate
at dinghy docks again and the food was delicious, the second night we
ate at mamacita's and once again the food was scrumptious. We went to
playa flamenco and once again it was beautiful, we also hiked over to
carlos rosario and went snorkeling it was real pretty. We'll be back
for sure in the spring!!

| "Enjoyed our 2 night stay at Casa Ensenada.
It was clean and well appointed. We utilized the free 2 person kayak
and enjoyed mornings and evenings on the harbor. Nice boat people that
manage the place too. Beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards were there
too for no charge".
| Ruth Manna Longmeadow, Massachusetts 08/27/04
| My daughter and I spent ten days at Casa Ensenada
this August. We stayed in the Grande apartment. What I really love
about this apartment are the views of the harbor from both the living
room and bedroom. It was great to have a well-equipt, new kitchen since
we cooked in for dinner most evenings. The apartment was very neat and
clean too. Late every afternoon, after a full day at the beach, I just
sat on the end of the dock watching the seagulls and looking for fish.
We discovered that seagulls love bits of raw bacon! After dinner I'd go
out on the dock again to check out the stars, something I can't do in
Massachusetts. The in-town location of Casa Ensenada
makes life easy. You can walk to everything: grocery store, liqour
store, restaurants, dive shops, gift shops, post office, etc. A very
convenient location! Karen and David were hosting for Butch and Jackie
and they were excellent hosts, helpful and friendly. When we asked,
they had good suggestions about things to do and see. Here are a few
things I would definitely recommend:For breakfast, walk down to the
Panaderia near the airport and order a delicious egg, ham, and cheese
sandwich with Puerto Rican coffee. Their guava-filled pastry is
fabulous too.At lunch, try El Batey, a short walk from Casa Ensenada.
It's a bar but they make terrific sandwiches. Our favorites were the
pernil or pork sandwiches. We brought them to the beach and ate them
while they were still warm. There are several grocery stores but it's
challenging to find fresh produce that is not pre-packaged. We had
stopped at a roadside stand on the trip from San Juan to Fajardo so we
had mangoes. Puerto Rico has the best mangoes in the world!Flamenco
Beach is a gorgeous beach and you will love it! But be sure to go to
Luis Pena to snorkel for the day. Captains Jack and Pat can take you
there on their glass-bottom boat. Also go to Melones,(Turn right after
the Catholic Church and follow the road until it ends) another smaller
beach which also has snorkeling and lots of coral and shells. One more
thing: Be sure to rent a jeep so you can see the entire island.
Although you could manage without a car, you'll have much more fun with
a car!
| Becky & Bob Fort Lauderdale, FL 08/16/04
| Last week we spent an overnight on Culebra and stayed at Casa Ensenada
(Pequeno). We wished we had stayed a week or two.We flew on Vieques Air
from Fajardo arriving at 7 am.The staff was outstanding, seamlessly
checking us in at the early hour, familiarizing us with the rental boat
(Culebra Boat Rental) and island, and recommending local dining
establishments (another vote for Barbara Rosa's).We spent the next two
days exploring beaches and snorkeling the reefs of the west coast by
16' skiff, we saw turtles, rays, lobster, teeming fishlife, and some of
the largest and healthiest coral we have ever seen.Carlos Rosario was
the highlight. The sheltered west coast was easily accessible from Ensenada
through the channel so it was a smooth ride, easygoing vacay. A gas
station on the channel had ice for the large cooler provided on the
rental boat. The Pequeno room was clean and as-advertised; perfect for
our needs as we packed light breakfasts and sandwich lunches from the
big island.Culebra locals were very friendly, Carlos (Carlos Jeep
Rental) was kind enough to give us a lift from the airport and freely
gave advice and inside info on Culebra as well as where we were staying
in Fajardo. All in all a great experience.

facilities, cleanliness and peacefulness. In short, everything was
perfect. We will definitely be back soon. Thanks a lot.

| I went to Casa Ensenada last year during the fall and it was thebest! Being a local I have been going to Culebra since I was little and Casa Ensenada
its the best by far. Butch and Jackie are so friendly and helpfull and
their dog Cocoa was a delight. She even provided me with mosquito
repelent when I forgot mine =) It felt just like home after a busy day
of beach hoping getting back to a clean, comfortable, air conditioned
room with cable its priceless. If you are reading this and are not yet
sure if this is the place for you book it right away! Believe me you
will not be disaponted.

| Casa Ensenada
is wonderful. I have been to Culebra twice and stayed there twice. They
have a beautiful back yard right on the bay. The back deck area has an
outdoor grill and nice lounge chairs. The sunrise is one of the most
beautiful things I have ever seen. The Pendergasts are a very helpful
and the guest house has all amenities. They have a link on this site
with helpful pictures. The Kayake is free for guests and fun to use. It
is nice to paddle over to town and get out at Dinghy Dock for Happy
Hour. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. It is is a great location with
just a short walk to town. You can step out front and flag down the
buses/vans that will take you to Flamenco Beach for $2.00. We always
take one day where we rent a jeep and drive then hike to some of the
more remote beaches. You can also get out for snorkling by chartering a
boat which Casa Ensenada offers or you can pay and someone will take you out snorkling. You are in for a treat which will leave you longing to come back.

| Rick and I just got back from our wonderful trip to Puerto Rico/Isla Culebra.Five out of our seven nights were spent at Casa
Ensenda Guesthouse.Jackie and Butch are wonderful hosts, and the
Pequeno was perfect for us, with a queen-sized bed, bathroom with
shower, refrigerator, toaster, coffee pot, etc.We had toast and coffee
for breakfast every day, and made sandwiches for lunch. For dinner, our
favorite place was Barbara Rosa’s, a five-minute walk from Casa Ensenada.Barbara
serves wonderful, reasonably priced food. You order at a window, and eat
outside on a patio. The restaurant does not serve liquor, but Barbara
has wine glasses, and you can pick up a bottle of wine at Happy Landing
and bring it with you.We took the publico to Flamenco beach a few
times, and from there, took the twenty to twenty-five minute hike to
Carlos Rosario. Our favorite beach though, was Melenos, which is a
fifteen to twenty minute walk from Casa Ensenada. The
two days that we were there, we were the only ones on the beach. You
might possibly want to rent a jeep for a day, but otherwise, unless you
want to go out to Zoni, or Soldiers Point, renting a car is not
necessary.

| I just came from Culebra last week and stayed at Casa Ensenada.
This is a great place with an excellent view. The owners, Jackie and
Butch, are great hosts. We rented the "Pequeno" which is more than
enough for 2 people. It comes equipped with everything you need for
your stay. They also have a BBQ, tables, chairs etc.. outside for
everyone to use.We also rented a boat from them and we had a blast. We
are definitely staying here when we go back. Our favorite place to eat
was the Dinghy Dock.

| Culebra is beautiful, peaceful and well worth the trip.Casa Ensenada
is an excellent choice for accomadations. It's close enought that you
could walk from the airport or ferry dock. Then rent a bike and go to
Zoni and Flamenco. When at Flamenco be sure to hike over the ridge to
Rosario and do some snorkeling. Also be sure to take advantage of the Casa Ensenada gracious offer of free use of thier kayak. Kayaking around the bay is incredible. On top of all that Casa Ensenada's
room are first rate and Butch and Jackie are very friendly helpful
hosts. However, aside from all of that, the main reason I went to
Culebra was for bird watching!!!If you are into birds I recommend
Culebra. There is quite a variety from seabirds nesting on nearby islets
to the fresh water lagoons (good for shorebirds and waterfowl), the
mangroves (good for waders) to the hills (passerines). I saw several
new species while on Culebra!Culebra and it's wildlife will be in my
memory for a long time.

| Thank
you so much for the great time in Culebra we totally see why you would
choose that island to live. We really had a great time the spirit of
the people is so great. We felt no pressure from the locals to buy
things or worry about crime. It's a beautiful place. Thanks for
everything. We will come back.

| I
have been to Culebra twice and both times stayed with Jackie and Butch
and Cocoa too!I can't say enough good things about the place. The back
yard and dock are gorgeous. They have everything you need.We stay in the
smaller room, Peqeno, and it is more than adequate for a couple. It is
nice to be able to save money by purchasing food in town and cooking on
the grill out back by the water. We also packed our own picnic lunches
for the beach and didn't have to worry about coolers or ice packs as
Jackie graciously supplied us with both!Casa Ensenada
is also within walking distance of the town and shops and you can catch
the shuttle van to Playa Flamenco by just standing outside and waiving
your hand. Happy Hour at Dinghy Dock is a must!Tell the bar tender Judy
that Connie from Vermont says hello! Culebra is a beautiful, pristine
Island. Please be careful of the marine life and respectful of this
beautiful place.

| Our stay at Casa Ensenada was relaxing and warm. Relaxing because the view from the dock and the patio to Ensenada
Onda Culebra is breath taking. You have to see the sun rising in the
morning from the dock....BEAUTIFUL...It was very warm due to the
hospitality and family atmospher that Butch, Jackie and Cocoa provided
us with. Our 29 foot Phoenix (MAHI-MAHI) boat fit perfectly on the
property dock.We will be back for sure with the kids.. We highly
recommed to stay at Casa Ensenada when visiting Culebra..Thanks for everything.Jose and Laura

| Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Culebra and Casa Ensenada. Since our return, unable to stop thinking about the island, the people we met, and our stay at Casa Ensenada.
Sitting at the end of the dock, sharing a glass of wine, and viewing
the lights and boats at rest in the harbor at night is simply
unforgetable. The beaches were great - not crowded and tons of coral
and reefs to explore snorkeling. The dive shop next door was a big plus
and, besides taking our son scuba diving, also delivered us on a
deserted beach on an offshore island for the day complete with lunch
and munchies. This might be heaven....

| My
family and I stayed during this summer (August 2002) . The children
were ecstatic about how beautiful this virgin piece of paradise is. Casa ensenada
is a little piece of that paradise. Imagine drinking coffee at 6:30 in
the morning while sitting right on your own little pier. WOW! Playa
flamenco is AWESOME! The marine life is so close, you'll fall in love.
I don't have anything negative to say about Casa Ensenada.
Just remember-It's not a hotel, it's a GUEST HOUSE. Do not go to
Ricci's Restaurant, it's far from town and it's the most expensive
restaurant I've been in my life! (They charge you for the courtesy
bread).

| Casa Ensenada
was perfect for us. We loved the in-town convienience and all of the
wonderful amenities including blender, tv/vcr with all the channels,
a/c, cooking utensils, cooler, beach towels, hammock, free kyack,
wonderful friendly dog and especially the gracious hosts! I am
definetley comming back to Culebra again to re-visit all of the new
friends I made on this charming island. The beaches were perfect and
there was just the right amount of relaxation mixed with fun things to
do! The Estudio unit was perfect for us two traveling but would have
still been quite comfortable had we had one or two more with us
| krysti February 10, 2002
| We went to Culebra, Puerto Rico from Dec. 28-Jan. 2, 2001. We stayed at Casa Ensenada
in the Estudio. There are 4 of us. Two adults, one 11 year old and one
infant. The Estudio as two twin beds and one futon that pulls into a
full size bed. There was plenty of room for us. We were supplied with
everything we needed. The Estudio is very clean. You just have to
remember that this is a guest house and not a hotel. The room will not
be cleaned unless you are there five days. Also, you will not get fresh
linens or towels until the 3 day. You are supplied with bath towels and
beach towels which is an added bonus. Just remember to hang the beach
towels outside for the next day. Jackie was a gracious hostess and went
far beyond the call of duty. She answered all of my questions and
volunteered some very good information. Culebra is a wonderful place to
visit. The ocean is so clear and the weather so lovely. Just remember
your sunblock 45. Willy from Willy's Jeeps took us by boat to the
little island of Culebrita for the day. It only takes around 15 minutes
to get there. Not a cheap ride but well worth it for the amazing ocean
that you will be able to swim in. What a paradise. I highly recommend Casa Ensenada.
The location is good, the hostess is wonderful and the island is
charming. When you go, don't forget to pet their friendly dog, Cocoa
for me! (

| This place and the people here are absolutely wonderful! Especially Jackie and Butch at Casa
Ensanada. This was the best find in years for us!The rental was SO
STOCKED with everything we need and more, that it truely felt like home
away from home!We were in heaven snorkling in all the places Butch
tells you about, and his boat gets you wherever you want to go!
Snorkling, fishing(even I caught fish!!!A miracle!), sunsets on the
water, romantic desolate beaches, you name it.Must eat at Mamacitas and
Dinghy Dock, 2 of the fine places recommended by Jackie. WE WILL
RETURN!!! It was our best vacation in years. And we will always stay at
Casa Enseneda, thank you so much Butch and Jackie...and Cocoa!!!

| This
was one of the most wonderful vacation spots I have ever been too. The
island is so beautiful and the Perdergast are wonderful. We really
enjoyed the dining in the area as well. My mornings were spent on the
deck overlooking the bay. We spent our afternoons snorkeling and lying
on the beaches. I look forward to bringing my two young boys with me
one day to experience the hospitality of the island and Casa Ensenada!!! (

| Just back to NY after a terrific but too short a week on Culebra (August 13th - August 19th, 2001). Our stay at Casa Ensenada was a dream. I'm sure many say they will return; well if we ever do, and we would love to, Casa Ensenada
is the true Hacienda de Los Suenos en la Isla De Culebra. If you should
pop into the Hotel Puerto Rico for cocktails, as we often enjoyed
doing, tell "sweet old" Joe we said hola. Other highlights included
dining with Joe, Senor Personalidad himself, on incinerated mouth
watering pork chops at Tina's (El Caobo), nightcaps at Happy Landing,
and little spot of dancing at the deliciously named El Eden. We miss
you.

| We stayed in the Estudio at Casa Ensenada
in May, 2001. It was extremely comfortable and had everyting we needed
to be able to cook some of our meals. It is within walking distance of
town and on the route served by the publicos. Jackie and Butch were
very great hosts, along with Coco, their chocolate lab. I look forward
to staying there again in future.
| La Rue La Valley Friday Harbor, Wa February 10, 2002
| My friend and I just spent 2 wonderful weeks in the Estudio at Casa Ensenada
in late May 2001. Butch and Jackie are the absolute best hosts. They
were very helpful and informative, as were their managers, David and
Karen who took over when Butch and Jackie were gone. We felt very safe
and quite at home, just like part of the family. Our room was very
clean and had eveything we needed. Culebra is a beautiful and very
friendly island. Great beaches! Had a wonderful and relaxing time!
